Not surprised by tonight's VA election results. Gillespie wasn't going to win anyway especially considering this tweet back in June.

I am afraid that women appreciate cruelty, downright cruelty, more than anything else. They have wonderfully primitive instincts. We have emancipated them, but they remain slaves looking for their masters all the same. They love being dominated.

If you guys havent seen it, google the commercial Northram ran w/the guy in the pickup and the confederate flag chasing the Mexican kids. A lot of people hoped that would fire up the Republican base, but apparently it didnt.

I saw that ad on facebook. It seems to have gone viral. That was for the Virginia democrat?! Damn, some people on the left have gone really low with smear campaigns. I've seen Trump impeach commercials too.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

To paraphrase Edward Abbey, D.C. is the blob that ate northern Virginia.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

RE: Analysis of Virginia's 2017 election (including alt-right candidate Corey Stewart)
Looks like the Democratic base in NoVa was more energized and motivated to get out and vote yesterday, indicated not just by the margin of victory for Northam, but by how many state house seats they picked up. That tranny in Prince William County beat a Republican incumbent who had won like eight consecutive elections. The long-serving Republican in West Fairfax/East Loudon County was also unseated. There were four assembly races waiting to be called as of this morning. Not counting those four, the Democrats picked up 14 state seats to deadlock the state assembly.

Of course, the Amazon WaPo and other Democratic pundits are saying that the reason the Republicans took a beating in VA was because of Trump and all Republican candidates going forward need to renounce Trump. Hopefully, the other Republican candidates won't fall for that, because it isn't true.

Virginia is lost. I don't want to say it, because then it'll be too easy to say the same thing for North Carolina. (Maybe Georgia too? There's a pretty big trend of blacks moving to Atlanta, but not sure if that's altered the state's politics yet - although this could be countered by the states they're leaving getting redder.)

I'm shocked, though, it only took a decade and a half. If we somehow fuck up the midterms, we're so fucked it isn't even funny. This demographics stuff has been sneaking up on us for a while.

If Amazon puts HQ2 in Atlanta, that'll shove GA into purple in the medium-long run even faster.

Gillepsie did absolutely nothing to fire up the Republican base in VA. I mean, seriously, his opponent made a commercial of a white guy in a pickup with a confederate flag running down muslims and Mexicans and I dont think he said a word about it. The cucked, establishment R's dont have a chance in some places unless they grow a sack and stand up for themselves like Trump did.

RE: Analysis of Virginia's 2017 election (including alt-right candidate Corey Stewart)
I see two positives coming of the VA election

1) Democrats think "WOW, this victory indicates a RISING BLUE TIDE, we are doing things the right way, let's keep up our current tactics bitching about Trump and preaching condescending identity politics bullshit that everyone is sick of!"

2) GOP schism widens as establishment NeverTrump cucks realize that if they don't get their shit together and MAGA, they will fucking lose.

I don't think Gillespie's issue was not being "pro-Trump enough." I think that his uninspiring nature and inability to win turnout battles are what killed him.

If you're not fucking her, someone else is.

RE: Analysis of Virginia's 2017 election (including alt-right candidate Corey Stewart)
3 things at work

1. Dems more motivated to turnout, Reps were not. Dems due to Trump hate, etc. Reps due to an uninspiring candidate. I haven't seen the final turnout numbers by registration to tell how big the impact was, but I would guess it makes up the 3% between Gillespie and Trump in 2016.
2. Population growth in Nova (more than the rest of the state)
3. Further deterioration in the demographics

VA is likely lost forever given the Hispanic/Asian (specifically Indian/Muslim) population growth in the next 20 years. Lots on anchor children and green card holders that will be citizens in the next 10 years.

Re:
NOVA is prime swamp territory and the only way to have a chance in VA as a whole, going forward, is a massive depopulation there from cuts to the federal govt which may or may not even be realistic at this point. The eurocrats, contractors, think tanks, non profits, and the economy that has grown around them will not go without a fight that may well border on insurrection. Maybe in President Trump's second term. Thank GWB for bloating the fed govt after 9/11, as that's when things started to shift in earnest.

RE: Analysis of Virginia's 2017 election (including alt-right candidate Corey Stewart)
Four of the state assembly races were close enough to trigger a recount, but so far it looks like the Republicans will win all four. So, the Republicans will have a one seat advantage in the state legislature.

I can't find a graphic of the election results by county in VA, but it basically mirrored the presidential election. All the rural counties went for Gillespie, and Northam crushed it in the DC suburbs, Richmond, Hampton/Norfolk, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, and a few smaller college towns. So, I think the Republicans will maintain their edge in the state assembly for years to come, but will struggle to ever again have a Republican senator.

If we aren't careful, Texas will be like Virginia in 8 years. That happens, and the country is done. Goodbye America.

That is already pretty much guaranteed to happen.
