So I ran into peculiar situation the other day and it's been sitting on my mind since so I thought I'd ask other forum members how they would have dealt with this as I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to.

So I was out walking with my main the other day and I was doing my own thing and not really engaging in conversation with her.

I suddenly look at her to say something and I see that she's looking straight ahead at a random guy giving him an IOI. It wasn't a major one like licking her lips or rustling her hair but I know an IOI when I see one.

It was over in about a second or so and I made as if nothing happened and continued what I was about to say but I was curious as to whether that was correct ?

I suppose you could make an argument for calling her out on it but I don't want to seem like I'm insecure, however this is my main and not some random side piece I'm just fucking so i do feel somewhat of a way about her doing that.

How would guys approach your main girl sneaking in an IOI to another guy in public ?

Are you sure it was an IOI? Sometimes it can be an acquintance or just a politeness gesture. If I saw my wife doing an obvious IOI, I'd call her on it - but just looking isn't enough.

I had briefly considered this but swiftly dismissed the idea for a couple of reasons:

1. I'm actually still gaming on the side and don't want to inject or arouse suspsions to my extra curricular activities.

2. This just doesn't seem like the correct long term strategy. What is the end game here ? It leads to me giving girls IOIs to make my girl insecure and jealous which doesn't seem very healthy. She may not even attribute my reasoning as to why I'm suddenly IOIing other girls to something that she probably doesn't even remember right now.

I suppose the correct long term strategy is raising my SMV to the point where she no longer feels the need to do this, however If IOIs partly operate on a subconscious level that won't necessarily stop this behaviour right ?

Hmm technically speaking it may just have been a politeness gesture but I'll have to go with my gut on this one. If a girl had given me that same look I would have classified it as an IOI.

I think your right, calling her out for a split second looks seems to be insecure however I can't front, it still annoys me.

I know its hard to believe sometimes, but girls are actually human too, you can't expect them to not stare at another guy for the rest of their lives.

At the time, if she is doing this often in front you, she might be trying to disrespect you but I dont know. And unless this is a girl you are going to marry or have children with, my advice is still the same, ignore it and do a hard long gaze at the next attractive women you walk by.

It took me many years to develop the knowledge, education, awareness, attitude, skill, mental control, and "vibe" to be able to behave this way...

One thing I'm still not sure on is the effect of prolonged teasing as punishment. Will it increase or decrease the likelihood of bad behaviour? More practical experiments will be needed..

I was planning when to implent Gio's play when I also came to this conclusion.

What happens the next time she finds herself in that situation ? Does she purposefully look in order because she enjoys the thrill of being put back in her place ?

If so, the play failed.

It was to get her to stop, not provide her with a thrill button that she can press at will.

Can anyone weigh in on this aspect of the conundrum ?

I think it's important to frame here as your situation differs somewhat from mine.

Your girl was explicitly letting you know that she was checking out other guys and letting you know that she thought they were cute.

I suppose it's worth adding that you must absolutely balance covert punishment for unwanted behaviour with covert positive reinforcement for good behaviour.

Unlike a dog, a woman can simply choose to leave if all she feels are negative emotions when she's around you. At best, even if she stays she'll be a terminal emotional energy sink.

It can be difficult to spontaneously think of a situational punishment like in Leonard's first example so you can always fall back on the very simplest punishment, which comes from Mystery Method - the takeaway. Simply withdraw your attention if she does anything that displeases you.

Step above that - soft next. See BlackDragon for some good info on that - basically going no contact for a week then picking up where you left off like nothing happened. Every time I've done that the girl has subsequently been a lot more eager to stay in my good books.
