"Best Places" for Singles
Top 10 Cities for Single Women:

As I flip through the internet news I'll often come across articles trying to pin down "Best Places for Singles to Do Something". Does anyone know anything about how these articles are researched and written? Who writes them and what information (if any) are they using to make their recommendations? Are they generally of any use?

The first question I'll often have is: are these articles descriptive or prescriptive? Are they telling me where singles ARE or where they SHOULD go?

I'm suprised NYC even appears in that list considering its male-favouring gender ratios. My guess is that it's pulled out of their asses.
