Hey guys, looking for a bit of advice. I'm about 50/50 right now on taking a trip somewhere in Europe in early fall before it gets too cold. Countries I've already been to in Europe: England, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands. So I want to see somewhere new. Money has been kinda tight this year so I'm not looking to spend a lot of time in a very expensive country. I'd be flying for free using an American Airlines reward so I have to go someplace AA flies or at least where I can fly on one of their partner airlines. I want to go to a place that's "brotha friendly" if you know what I mean. And somewhere that it won't be too cold already in early autumn. Ideally, about 3 weeks or maybe a month tops. I'd like to hit a couple different places(or would it be better to stay put in one?), but I don't want to move around so much that it makes it hard to get into the local scene and pull girls. No hostels. I'd be looking at renting on airbnb.com. So reasonably priced accommodations is also important.

Suggestions?

I'm glad to see you finally getting out on the road my man...With that said I think you should hit Ljubljana & Zagreb. You can easily do two weeks between the two places and get off the beaten path using both capitals as a base for your travel operations. The cities are only 2 hours apart by car and probably the same via rail or bus. Check http://www.aa.com to be sure but all the flights that AA services in Europe with it's own aircraft are major tourist destinations which = Expensive. Hopefully they have some partner airlines (Maybe Malev/Austrian/Croatian/Lufthansa) which all service those two capitals. Zagreb is going to be cheap along with Ljubljana compared to it's European Capital Counterparts. I would seriously go down there If I had your time and do two weeks between both cities.

I was there a year ago in Sept. Pack the butter soft leather though.

Make sure you check my sheets for "what I would have done different".

Thanks for the info fellas! Narrowing down where you want to go is tough. If I had an ideal trip with unlimited time and bankroll, I'd fly to Iceland(always wanted to go there), then Stockholm, then to Copenhagen for a few days(got some friends there I'd like to visit), then make my way south through Germany, Vienna(amazing looking city), cross over to the Prague, then Budapest, then S. Italy, Greece and finish out in Croatia. But I'll have to save my perfect European itinerary for another time!

I'm considering pairing Germany and Croatia. I really would love to hit at least one Scandinavian country though. But 3 countries may be too much within several weeks since I'll need some time to feel out the local scene.

If you are on a limited budget Scandi will DRAIN it...Your best bet is to limit it to no more than two countries as your base of operations to save time, money & get max exposure to getting the most out of each city. Over the last few trips I've been on I've realized how much more I would enjoy myself if I just chilled in one spot for longer...that's how I'm doing my trips for now on if I have the time. Germany and Croatia would be a good mix of countries to check out...Try to stick with the secondary cities & college towns in Germany for the real thing (less immigrants, cheaper, where you will be more exotic). Yeah, the temptation to jump around is so great.

However, traveling drains your bankroll. Not just because of the "travel costs", but in finding the best ATM's, where to buy food, restaurants, smokes, etc.

And more importantly, you lose the places you had on Lock Down.

You always take a hit when you move.

If you have to see more than one spot (and you are going to Latvia) for a month, hit Riga for 2 weeks and a smaller city in Latvia for two weeks.

All that passport, airport security, Losing your Passport, packing and unpacking is for the birds.
