Protip: sign up (free) for Scott's Cheap Flights
I'm not affiliated with this - it's just something that I've gotten value from and that I wanted to share.

A guy named Scott runs a business called, you guessed it, Scott's Cheap Flights. You get email alerts about cheap flights around the world from your local area and so far I've seen some amazing prices. You can sign up here:
https://scottscheapflights.com/

His team seems to scour the Internet looking for deals and, he says, sometimes airlines mess up and their fares are temporarily really low and you can take advantage.

Some recent examples:
- Tokyo from USA west coast for $500-600
- Australia from many continental USA airports (even the east coast) for $500-600
- Spain, Italy, Belgium, etc. from USA for $300-400

It's free to sign up. You can pay for the deluxe version in which you get more email alerts and also a bit earlier than the free version.

Just wanted to pass this along.

Can confirm. Im signed up for the deluxe version and the deals sent out are incredible. I had the free version first though and it was also helpful.

Im not associated in any way with them either (just cause i know how these things can look). There's multiple deals sent out per day, which last anywhere from a few hours to a couple weeks, and even though i wont use 95% of them i have friends i'll send them to if i know they've had their eye on a place.

Do yourselves a favor guys. And kudos to OP.

yes this a great subscription to have even if only the free one. For anyone in Canada, you should also check out (your city's airport code) deals. So for example YEG Deals or YYC deals. The man who runs this blog posts good deals departing from Canada, although since its Canada, deals are not as frequent as America.

I think I'll check out the paid version since it seems like a pretty good deal. They sent out an email last night for a flight to Greece that was only 475 bucks or so, but it wasn't from any airports around where I am. The paid subscribers were sent a round trip deal to Costa Rica for $200.

Yeah the Costa Rica deal was pretty good. Considering that I paid $700 to Costa Rica last year.

If nothing else, signing up is a good way of accumulating knowledge on what prices to various places can cost. You can learn over time what flights are going to cost and if a trip that you're considering is the right price.

I signed up for six months of premium and so far it's been great.

I also bought his e-book: How to Find Cheap Flights. I can send a copy to anyone - PM me.

I've been using those sites for years. I use their twitter alerts so I'm able to get them right away. Both those sites are free btw

Also...extremehoteldeals.com is great as well. I've booked suites for 200 at some outstanding spots.
