We (Slavs), at first glance, do not tend to smile at strangers. I sure don't. Too much smiling is seen as as sign that either you are hiding something, or that you are retarded. For example, when I was in Cali 6 years ago, I was feeling uncomfortable when I saw strangers smiling at me. Do you really like me? Or do you intend to shoot me in the back when I lower my guard?
But...once we get to know you better, we do like to smile. We aren't robots.

You're not wrong but we Slavs smile a lot when drinking and hanging out with close friends and family in private. You can't just misrepresent us like that   .
