You don't want the mother to spank your boy - if you don't want to raise a child who is submissive to women.

It' is better if father spanks - it teaches the child that there always will be men stronger than him around so he should be smart and not act as if he is untouchable.

I would agree that spanking is the lazy way out - if you have unlimited time to talk and bring the sense to the child with words.

In real life you sometimes have to get the child to behave NOW - when his behavior puts himself or his smaller sibling in a real threat or when you just have to drive somewhere, like to a doctor, and the child would not listen and go or other extreme situations. Sometimes it happens that you just have to get the child to go sleep otherwise neither you nor him will be able to wake up tomorrow go to school/job make that all important once in a lifetime job interview or something else. There are many situations, life is not smooth and world is not ideal, therefore parents who resort to spanking in rare and extreme cases should not be judged.

No? Never said or implied "all the time". I am saying that every parent I know who has hit their child has done so at least once out of anger, frustration, resentment--not "justice" or "good parenting" like you suggest.

My overall point is hitting children does more harm than good.

Do you have children? Are you sure you would never be frustrated about your child?
Do you think parents should go to jail if they are frustrated and don't know what to do with their unruly child? is being frustrated, angry or desolate a crime?
Do you think that parents who have never confessed of spanking their child have never done it?
You think spanking always does more harm then good? Even if the parent would go crazy if the child does not calm down? Even if the parents is unable to prepare for work and get some sleep to be able to provide for family because they spend hours and hours of trying to talk with the child? Even if the child does something that endangers himself or his siblings?

You better rethink these questions.

2nd world is former soviet union - IQ there are the same or higher then 1st world. In 2nd world life is much better then 1st world, socially and culturally, only economics is worse.

Also you don't understand what a shithole is. if the whole world for you except the west(1st world -10% world polulation) is a shithole then you have screwed standards - that is sissified standards. North Korea or Somalia is a shithole - not 90% of world. Russia, Eastern Europe, southeastern Asia, South America (for most part) is not a shithole it's the median/ actual standard of life on this planet.

You asked a lot of questions, but I think it boils down to this one.

No. I actually don't think it should be a criminal offense, because getting the government involved in raising kids is generally going to have a worse outcome than letting parents, even bad ones, raise them as they see fit. But hitting kids is wrong, period.

If a child is being unruly, it is usually the result of poor parenting, unless the kid has something neurologically wrong like autism in which case hitting them won't fix anything. Every time I did something stupid as a kid, it was because my parents weren't around or didn't give a shit (or were being abusive toward me and I was acting out). When I had guidance and role models I never did anything that required being hit.

Hitting kids is lazy. It means you didn't invest the time, energy or love on the front end.

There's a lot of ways I could take this apart, but I'll go with this one: life is so shitty in Russia, the average person has a 30% chance of drinking themselves to death, according to the OECD

Hitting a child is wrong, spanking them is ok.
I always knew why I was being punished or spanked, it was pretty damn obvious I had fucked up and deserved the consequences. Lying, stealing, swearing, correcting a child's behavior is not supposed to be fun, it is only necessary requirement for a child to grow up as a functioning part of society.

That's good, you could have just said so sooner.

This is generally true but again you should not make absolute statements - the world is broader and many other circumstances exist like, bad influences children get from television, teachers, other children or even bad members of your own family, maybe some jerk grandfather or uncle. You cannot isolate your children totally too - to some extent they need to confront the world and learn about it, but then bad influences can creep up. So it's not that simple. If you are not a parent then you might construct various absolute ideals in your head, but in reality nothing goes so smoothly and perfectly even if you have the best intentions.

As I have already said - theoretically, in and ideal world, with unlimited time , with unlimited resources and endurance, with textbook psychology knowledge, with no other worries, this is lazy parenting indeed - but in real world in real time - sometimes there is no way around it.

Please don't make me laugh - if you know Russia only from afar - from theoretical studies and movies then you are not really competent to talk about it.

Drinking is surely a problem but people don't drink just because of bad life, it's a cultural thing.

Life in Russia will seem more grim to you if you are a materialist and only care about your income, then yes USA Canada, Australia and Western Europe are the only places in the world you might want to live.

But believe it or not - many people are patriots of Russia or their EE country and do not want to leave. The materialists have emigrated for most part and people who have remained love their country. There are many things better here then in west - low cultural diversity, small political correctness, beautiful more traditionally minded women, churches uninfected with female priests and gay acceptance, lot's of nature and fresh air, people usually do not rat on their neighbor like in west, medicine is cheap and easily available, food is more natural and healthy, obesity rates are lower, education system is old time hardcore - there are many cultural and social reasons why east is better then the west.

Russia is very wast - some places can surely be celled shitholes - remote villages in Syberia with winters where temperatue falls below -40 Celsius, contact with other settlements is hard, population is inbred, people have nothing to do just drinking, economy is non-existant, it's hundreds of kilometres to nearest school or hospital - these are shitplaces. But life in Russian city where there is any industrial life going on is not that bad and not much different from west.

The reasons for bad economy in Russia has nothing to do with bad upbringing and spanking - it's either the huge remoteness of settlements from economic lifelines or legacy of Soviet Union and the following looting of national resources in Yeltzin's era. The people themselves are rather educated, the universities are at high level, many bright engineers and scientists are produced. Elementary schools are hardcore and on much higher level then American Common core bullshit. IQ level of White Russians is he same as that of Americans and Germans and while alcoholism is a debilitating epidemic - obesity and prescription drugs isn't.

As long as the child is not being abused when spanked, then this will be good law. Also, people thinking it's lazy, I believe that some kids are just ass-holes. I know I was one; but what to do it you have a daughter and no mother around? How to discipline?

RE: Russia about to decriminialize domestic violance
While I took one or two solid spankings as a child, I'm not sure where I stand on the issue. Used sparingly and without too much force, it helps keep kids in check when they get too bold and arrogant. I know it helped check my ego when I was pushing the envelope too far.

The problem with attempting to legislate this kind of thing is that there is too large of a gray area. We can all agree a firm disciplinary pat on the butt is responsible parenting as it leaves no bruising and isn't putting the child in danger. We can probably also all agree that someone who beats the fuck out of their child deserves the long dick of the law to the fullest extent. But where is the line between discipline and abuse? It's going to be different for everyone. Some may think a minor bruise is okay while others think it's abuse. It's tough to look at anything more than a case by case basis.

My conclusion:

RE: Russia about to decriminialize domestic violance
From reading the article from the earlier OP, Russia isn't "decriminalizing" or "legalizing" domestic violence.

It's just amending the law to lessen the severity of the "offence" of corporal punishment so it doesn't imprison parents for decades like in the West where even criticizing a woman on Twitter can lead to criminal charges & a lengthy prison sentence like Gregory Alan Elliott.

Plus, in response to the support of teachers giving corporal punishment to their students---Not in this time of empowered women & gender theory fucking their students like it's a sport.

I would be pissed very greatly, if a teacher like Mary Kay Tourniquet whipped me because she hated my masculinity while she is taking a cock up her ass from the school bully or the Grade Five football players in elementary school...

Dad used a belt and mom a wooden spoon. I'll never forget the time my sister was annoying my mom who was on a cordless phone while stirring a hot pot of pasta sauce and mom pulled the spoon out and smacked her head with it and the sauce was all over my crying sisters hair haha.

RE: Russia about to decriminialize domestic violance
Personally I wouldn't spank my future children but I think when the husband uses spanking(on the ass only so as to not inflict any damage) on the wife as a form of domestic discipline(not domestic violence) this can be beneficial for keeping the wife's bad or disrespectful behavior in line.
An interesting blog written by a woman talks about how domestic discipline has played a major role in her marriage:

Recently my dad told me he heard from the media that even mere verbal criticism is now considered as "domestic abuse".

Everything is abuse in the media. If you don't give the wife enough money for frivolous shopping, it is financial abuse.
Ignore it all, do what you need to to be a good parent, ie: raising a functional part of society, male or female.
