CITY
San Luis Potosí is the state capital and largest city of the Mexican state of the same name.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO
The historic center is a must. Lots of colonial architecture, museums, churches, plazas, restaurants, and what not to keep you busy. But after a while it may get boring, considering this is a medium-sized city. Also, there isn't a lot of selection in terms of the nightlife, maybe just a few bars and that's all.

THE PEOPLE / WOMEN
San Luis Potosí has the conservative Bajío feel but also has influence from northern Mexico. Plus, tourists are fewer than in Guanajuato. And in particular, there are hardly any gringos. So the locals are going to be curious about where you're from if you're a non-Mediterranean Caucasian. The dating scene is very social-circle oriented, but from my experience, building social circle was easier in SLP than it was in Guanajuato. Both the men and the women were curious about me, and several women even sent me Facebook friend requests. Here's how I started building social circle in SLP. I was with a few Mexican friends I made at the hostel I was staying at. And I came across two white-looking women dancing to cumbia outside of their workplace on the street. I began dancing with them, and they showed me the steps. Later that night as I ordered a pizza, the guy who took my order initiated a conversation with me.
