Hello you all, it's been a long time since I last posted on here. But I'm back in Mexico, residing in the colonial Bajío city of Guanajuato. And it seems to have gotten much worse from when I was residing here from June until mid November when I went to the USA for Thanksgiving and to visit a long lost male friend who lives in Tucson, AZ.

Here's the story. There was this girl from Mazatlán, Sinaloa who I seemed to really like over girls born and raised in the Bajío region because she had a more feminine bubbly personality whereas many Bajío girls seemed to have "apathetic" personalities. And she was my type, physically. She had big eyes, her skin was of a very light olive complexion. And she was also a gordita (meso-endomorph body type, and as a sidenote I am NOT into slender Mexican girls whose body type is predominantly ectomorph). Long story short, I couldn't talk to her at her workplace (an open air restaurant on the street) anymore. And we couldn't hang out over the Holidays. She then went to Puerto Vallarta shortly after the new year. Just now I looked at my news feed on Facebook and discovered she just found a new boyfriend in Vallarta (whom she told me is from Aguascalientes); so yuck, yuck, yuck. And she and another boyfriend broke up in November (yes it was just after the Cubs won the World Series). Talk about a girl who's apparently single only for a short time between relationships.

Yes I thought about just leaving Guanajuato to a part of Mexico where the girls are more open to befriending or even dating foreigners, in particular areas of Northern Mexico that aren't narco-ridden. I know in Mexico City, the local girls are more open to dating foreigners. However, I've been there plenty of times and eventually grew tired of the fast-paced lifestyle and the chaos. I even noticed that in Mexico City, people take advantage of others more than anywhere else I've been to in Mexico. Yes I even got ripped off when I took a taxi from San Angel to Central de Autobuses del Norte (the meter read that I had to pay just over 100 pesos but the driver charged me 200 pesos). And I almost got ripped off again when I took a taxi to the airport.

Back to topic, there are other parts of Mexico other than DF where there are transplants who are more open-minded to dating a foreigner. Yes, I mentioned that people from Northern Mexico are more open to new people than those in the interior of the country. I noticed it myself many times. For instance I met a girl from Torreon and she was curious about me. I still stay in touch with her, unlike a lot of Bajío girls who flaked out on me. And when I went to San Luis Potosí, many of the locals were curious about me. I even got Facebook friend requests from girls in that place. Last but not least, a female friend in Ciudad Juarez lived in Guadalajara for a decade, and she told me that people in Central Mexico aren't as friendly as they are in Northern Mexico. On My Latin Life, an American of Italian descent told me he was disappointed with Guadalajara but had a much better time in Cholula Puebla. That's another city I'm considering.

For a while now I have been eyeing on Mexicanas from Sinaloa because from what I heard they have bubbly personalities as well as being good looking. But now that I discovered this one Sinaloense girl I really liked was single only for a couple months, I am suspicious that many girls in northern Mexico are single only for a short time in between relationships while the guys are pretty much incel for a much longer time. From what I was told, it's that way in Ciudad Juarez and in Chihuahua City. But I am wondering if it's like that all over Northern Mexico and places near that region (e.g. Aguascalientes, Zacatecas) because of their proximity to the USA. For those who have been to Northern Mexico (no matter if it's Sinaloa, Sonora, Nuevo León), please tell me if you found the girls to not be single for very long in between relationships / just as promiscuous as American women.

Also, another theory I have is that Mexican girls who regularly go to resort places are very well likely promiscuous and have no problems meeting another guy after they leave their boyfriends. But correct me if I'm wrong.

If Mexico gets any worse, my last resort is The Philippines although my concern is that place is already too played out (due to information getting out on the Internet as well as Winston Wu's Happier Abroad). If not I will head to Russia or Ukraine where I heard that it's easier for a man to find a girlfriend than it is for a woman to find a boyfriend.

First of all I am from the North of Mexico my friend ( from Coahuila), lived 6 years in Nuevo León and what you say about northen mexican women, yes they stay single for a short period of time (the good ones) in between relationships.

What do I recommend for you? Monterrey. It is the biggest city in northern mexico, with a lot of international companies and a big middle-upperclass. There are 3 big universities, where students from around Mexico go to study (Tec de Monterrey- rings a bell?). You will have to understand that in Northern Mexico, social circle is the rule so probably as a foreign is your biggest barrier, but with students who aren't from Monterrey is not a big deal and your chances boost. I don't know your level of spanish man, but if you try to move around the area of Garza Sada and the San Pedro municipality you'll do fine. Think about it and I can put you in contact with a friend who organizes parties for international students/expaths where mexican girls interested in foreings (educated) show up.

MattHanson, can you drop a data sheet on San Luis Potosi? Or at least a very brief summary of your experience there?

It's on my list of potential locations to live in, so if you've lived there, I'd really like to know what you thought of the girls there, the people, and the overall safety of the place.

I've heard the people there tend to be insular and generally keep to themselves.

Did you day game there at all?

Also, would living in the downtown area be fun (I prefer not to own a car, if possible)?

As I had a chance to study in Monterrey for one semester I can vouch for what OCZ said... Quality girls seem to have brief pauses between their relationships.

If you decide to move to Monterrey I don't think you would have much luck with them without social circle, fluent Spanish, status and very good looks. Most of Regios are proud and cliquish people so breaking into the circle is not easy.

Your best bet here is to hit international events/parties/trips where you will meet a good mix of international students and Mexicans eager to meet foreigners. You are likely meet easy-going girls from all of the Northern Mexico and chill dudes that you can befriend. Those people frequently complain about the elitists Regios too. If you don't know where to look for it, send me a PM.

If I were you, I would just hit Mazatlan. Sizeable beach city, not spoiled with gringos (expect for pensioners), one of the best girls of all Mexico, decent food and relatively safe. If you wanna get a grip of what it has to offer, go during Carnaval or Semana Santa.

You may also try Zacatecas. There is some student population, girls are good-looking, you will definately be exotic and the city has colonial charm.

Now when you're talking about the good ones only being single for short periods of time, I'm wondering if you're talking about the majority of the women in the middle and upper classes. Or are you referring to the girls in the top 20 percent (the ones in the 8-10 range in the looks department)? Based on my travels, there are more attractive women in Mexico than there are in the USA. I noticed that the obesity rate in Mexico is contrary to what the media says, and Mexican women have a better fashion sense.

Regarding the top girls not being single for very long, my theory is that in big part, it's because the sexual revolution in the USA had a huge influence on Northern Mexico considering their proximity to one another. I don't know if most of the local men, including the good looking ones, had to endure celibacy for years before getting another date. But hopefully that isn't the case like in the USA.

Now did you find women to have it easier than men in the dating scene in Northern Mexico? Are many Mexican men (yourself included) from N. Mexico in your social class or higher celibate for years? Were the vast majority of girls in N. Mexico in the 8-10 range or were there plenty of 6s and 7s who have it much harder than the top notch girls?

I will that percentage goes bigger on the years. at 25 years will be that 20% and grows bigger the older they are and yes I am talking about the middle and upper classes. I will say in the middle-upper class Mexican woman do are more feminine and attractive in quantity compared to the states, not in the lower classes ( which lower classes i like 50% of the population, so the media doesn't necessary lies about it,but you aren't interested in that).

And yes, for a woman will be easier than for a guy for sure. Guys aren't that bound to the social circle in that matter, and sometimes they go "cat-hunting" as we say it. But in matters of a serious relationship, we are of course very selective as social status will be a thing. There are enough 6's and 7's that will through themselves at you easier too.

We're talking specifically about Northern Mexico here. In central Mexico, I heard that it was reversed where the men have an easier time finding a girlfriend than it is for a woman to find a boyfriend.

I hope that in Mazatlán there are plenty of single girls to go around, and that the situation isn't like the rest of Northern Mexico and the USA (single guys outnumbering single women).

Also, I thought the lower classes being at least 50 percent or more of the population was mostly in border towns like Juarez or Tijuana where they tend to attract the worst of Mexican people. And women from Veracruz and Chiapas go either to Tijuana or Ciudad Juarez to work in maquiladoras.

I refer to top-tier that live in San Pedro Garza Sada, go on vacation abroad, attend the most exclusive venues and most likely study in UDEM or TEC. They are usually dating guys from other affluent families of Nuevo Leon so they won't give you their time unless you bring some unique value to the table.

How are your looks and Spanish? As long as you have blond hair, blue/green eyes, not obese you are very likely have a good time there. By no means am I very good-looking dude and I recall group of 4 girls in the city in Northern Mexico telling me that I am handsome and if they can take a picture with me hahah. Most of the Mexican guys do not have game (although there are more players among norteños), they won't cockblock you either. Have your shit together, some sense of style, speak Spanish, differenciate yourself from Mexican dudes and voila! You will kill it there among 6s and 7s.

I speak intermediate-level Spanish, and I am either a 6 or a 7 looks wise. I'm a little bit overweight. My body type is a tad stocky as I'm meso-endomorph myself. But I wear clothes from European / European-influenced brands like Zara or Drape (I don't care for American brands as for me they're too casual, not to mention more loose fit).

Also, yes I have green eyes and dark blonde hair. And I am mixed race myself, being both Nordic and Borreby (at times I thought to myself "I wish I was Mediterranean" hahahahaha).

Yeah, central Mexico is a different thing. But generally the middle-upper class in Mexico behaves similar. I don't know about Mazatlan, it is not a big city and as many cities in Northern Mexico, the social circles are the key. There is tourism in the summer, but I don't think the schematics change a lot compared to other northern mexican cities (as my friends of Mazatlán tell me).

In the lower classes yes you are right, I just said the national average sorry. In a city like Monterrey and the metropolitan area is much lower. San Pedro county is an example.

Just hit the gym, practice your Spanish and you are set. Good point about the European brands, mind the fact that Mexican girls generally prefer European dudes to Americans so try keep an appearance of someone from Old continent.

I used to have good luck in Corboda and Veracruz back in the day. That's on the other side of Mexico, where there is not a lot of tourism (compared to places like Cancun, Acapulco, etc). I remember walking down the street while women pointed to me ad giggled. I was an oddity, which I managed to transform into a couple of bangs.

Northern Mexico was never good to me. Also, I found the women there to be on the chunky side. That being said, I've heard some good things about Monterrey which OCZ mentioned.

Don't get me wrong I like all types but I don't worship European blood like so many people on this planet tend to do. (I'm black). I find it strange and a bit disconcerting the amount of white worship on a global scale from both genders.

You are experiencing what a majority of members here wish to obtain; earning US$ income from movie gigs while spending that money in Mexico, yet still returning to the USA with a roof over your head.

I told ya already, as long as feminize teachers aren’t infecting the public schools in Mexico shoving dildos up their asses in front of a classroom like in Canada (or Alex Jones claimed was in Nebraska), you ain’t got nu thin to worry about.

By the way, Mexico City is considered “cosmopolitan” to urban standards, so ya gotta expect career women, though they ain’t bitter, man-hating “I hate all men” feminazis in Toronto, Calgary (lesser extent in Portland, Los Angeles & NYC.).

I lived in Chihuahua City a couple of years...ask me anything. IMO it is(was?)a goldmine but boring as hell if you don't have something else going on. There has also been a large influx in foreigners in the last few years since the city has become safer and so much foreign investments have come in.

As far as making money, I'm now getting a lot more money from my YouTube cartoon parodies than in the past. So my portable income is allowing me to travel freely more often. And I get to stay in Mexico for longer periods of time since I can allow myself to have far fewer commitments in the USA.

Also I'm no longer worried that Mexico would become a feminist hell hole anymore. And even in the major cites (Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey), the women were still a lot more feminine compared to their Anglo counterparts. The only thing is that in the largest cities, a single breadwinner isn't enough to make ends meet to support an entire family or even a married couple; both the husband and wife have to work.

More updates. This weekend I went to Irapuato, the third largest city in Guanajuato state, to meet up with a girl I met on Facebook (she friend-requested me and I accepted several days ago, and then we exchanged WhatsApp numbers and began getting to know each other). She and I hung out for 5 hours both on Friday and yesterday. Initially she was supposed to bring her other female friend along but it ended up being just us 2.

But nevertheless we had fun together, and we began developing a deeper friendship. She's less attractive than the Sinaloa girl I had feelings for, but only marginally. So she's between a 5 and a 6.5 by Mexican standards. But her personality resonated with mine very well, more so compared to the Sinaloa girl. The conversations were deeper, and we joked around way more. And she's relatively more introverted as well. But despite her introversion, she has the playful goofy personality I vibe with rather than the goal-oriented serious business-like personality of my Chilanga female friend in San Luis Potosí.

However, I didn't like the city of Irapuato itself. Many parts were ugly and looked run down. And there's even less to do than there is in Guanajuato City.

By the way Matt, remember that under American tax laws & FATCA ACT, you might have to submit tax returns.

However, I’m not a lawyer or CPA accountant, but it is advisable to submit yearly tax returns if you are earning over the non-taxable minimum amount of Federal Tax law. If you’re earning less than 5k a year, I don’t think you can worry that much.
Keep receipts just in case.

The disadvantage of American tax law is that taxation is based on citizenship rather than residency, so even if you were living in a hole in Mexico for seventy years, the American tax collectors will still want you to file taxes, what the crap yo…
