But when it comes to his wife, "She is a goddess as all women are, the feet of which I am not worthy to wash and I devote my everlasting heart to her and..." etc. blah blah blather.

Dude is going to get owned.

Red pill exteriors. Blue pill hearts. Thinks because his wife is for the moment a good homemaker men and women are all really on the same team. We're not on the same team.

It's sadly ironic that my brother and I were both in the military in 1994 when the movie PCU (Politically Correct University, a satire mocking the then-new idea of PC) came out. We made sure to see it on opening night, and we both loved it, even though it was a pretty crap movie.

Compare to the last time I saw my brother: wife and I were having lunch with him and Hambeast at one of the swankiest restaurants in Newport Beach.

Me: "Such and such is kind of ghetto...."
Beast:" That's offensive! You can't say that!"
Me: "Why not? What's offensive about it?"
Brother: "[Beast] has worked with a lot of clients who live in actual ghettos...it's not acceptable to speak of ghettos as if they're somehow inferior."
Me: [Fu*k this, I'm out] "So where are you two planning to visit on your trip to Southern California?"

I had an awesome RVF bro reach out to me re: the situation behind this thread. I replied privately, then realized some of the rest of the men who gave me great advice might also enjoy an update. After about three months, there's been slow progress, but it does seem to be healthy progress.

Bro is getting over things somewhat, has his own place, says he feels "awkward" now when he has to be around the old girl.

I offered to lend an ear anytime, but he's choosing his local buddies instead, far as I can tell. He and I live a couple thousand miles apart, so swinging by isn't really an option. I don't know if any of his buds are RP, but I know they do care about him.

I've tried a little light-hearted contact including bringing up some good memories we had together as 80s kids. He's responding well. But he has over 15 years of hard feelings toward me because of my disapproval of his ex. I'm being careful to let things improve organically between us, and not force anything. I don't know if we'll ever again be as close as we were when we were younger, but I'm hopeful that I can have a relationship with him again, and maybe even one day help him see the light re: the red pill (remember, this is a John Scalzi fan, so there's much deprogramming to be done).

Feel free to share any thoughts.
