Unfortunately I have no data on Guadeloupe - I am posting here to see if anyone has any information on this French-speaking Caribbean island. I searched the forum and information seems to be scarce.

It seems like a great place to learn French and go surfing. I'm not sure about the women.

Has anyone been?

It seems to use the Euro, being part of France. Flights can be quite cheap from the U.S. in certain parts of the year, for example January-March.

If I make it down there I will be sure to post a datasheet.

Unfortunately, I never went. The struggle is real - I can't think of a place where learning French while doing other cool stuff like surfing will be inexpensive. Learning Spanish in this way was cheap - Mexico, Colombia, DR, etc.

For French, my options are Quebec, the French Caribbean (which isn't cheap), France (likewise), or Africa. Flights to Africa are expensive and long.

Overall, French seems a lot harder for a gringo in America to learn than Spanish.

It is but Quebec still remains a decent option if you really want to learn it, rent in Montreal is very reasonable for a North American city of its size (especially compared to Toronto or Vancouver) and it's even cheaper in smaller cities like Quebec, which are better places to learn than Montreal anyway since fewer people speak English there. Also, with the weaker Canadian dollar, everything will be reasonable price wise, of course it'll be more expensive than Mexico or Colombia but not that much.

I looked into studying French in Quebec city at a place called Edu-Inter and the price was $335 CDN ($255 USD) for a 20 hours/week program. My Spanish school in Bogota was $240/week back in 2012, so it likely went up, the prices are similar. I paid about $650 USD in today's exchange for a studio in Bogota, you could probably find something similarly priced in Quebec (check out the website Kijiji for rentals). You'll pay more for food and booze in Quebec, probably about twice as much but then again, it's the safest city in North America and you won't have to worry about getting drugged and robbed like you would in most Latin American cities, or Paris.

The cheapest place to learn french while also learning surfing is Brittany in France that's where I live A very famous surfing spot La torche beach is there. As for girls there is a hidden Gem The city of Lorient I went out there last week end it was full of hot girls I felt like I was in Kiev!

This might be off topic, but I have the impression most of the hottest, and most cultured/assimilated black girls in Paris come from the French Caribbean.

If you like French-speaking black girls specifically, I imagine Guadaloupe is no slouch if not a bit small.

In fact, I took a course at Edu-Inter. The school was good and Quebec City is lovely. I recommend both for those interested in French language and culture. The people were laid back and pretty friendly. The two issues are the weather (though it's lovely in summer), and also that I want to do a bit more than study French intensively while I'm taking a class, like surfing lessons. It's a small complaint, though, and overall I agree that Quebec is a good option. I'm sure that I'll be back. Montreal is also a fantastic place. There's so much culture, good food, nice-looking people, and overall a feeling of relaxation and wellness that I don't find in the States. Quebec seems really a special place in some ways.
