Between reading this thread, Vinny's, and hanging out with you guys around town, I'm starting to get upset with myself that my dates lately have mostly sucked and that I don't anything good to share. Granted you guys have way more free time than me, but it's still my own doing - not managing my time more efficiently, being too picky and not being aggressive enough.

Regarding the cab thing- missing turns, getting "lost", etc, that seems to happen more often then not. My friend tells them straight up at the beginning that he has lived in Medellin more than a year and says that helps. We had a guy in Pereira this weekend straight up refuse to drive is because we were gringos. Wouldn't even acknowledge we were speaking Spanish, wouldn't look at our map, just kept saying gringo and telling us to get out. Personally I just get Uber, so cheap, nicer cars, and they take you to the right spot every time.

For the girls, I normally just get them Uber's as well. I get the principle of not paying, but even the long rides in Medellin are like $2-3, which is absolutely nothing for me, but probably means a lot more to them. Kind of gave up on this in Kiev, such a low price to keep a good looking girl happy and coming back for more, as opposed to risking losing it and starting the endless cycle of flakes and dates again.

I dunno man, I know some people come down here on savings and have to be frugal, but it's such a dick move to not just give these girls the 5,000-10,000 pesos ($1.75 - $3.50 USD) to bounce in a taxi. This is such standard procedure here that by not doing it, you're definitely going to piss them off and look cheaper than a local Colombian. If you really don't care about them and don't want to see them again, it's fine, but if you actually want to see them again then I bet the odds of that happening again are going to be pretty low after that. It's pretty petty and it's not "beta" to pay for a chicas taxi here.

Very few girls here can handle their own shit here. Independence isn't so common here in Medellin. (More common in Bogota, if anywhere in Colombia)
