Going out - Again, it depends on you. I can go out 4 times a week and not spend a cent, but I know my way around the city. $5-10 dollars can get you around if you have only a couple of beers, and $100-200 will get you far if you know when and where to spend your money.

Germanico: Excellent! Thanks for two good posts. A question if I may; heading to the south, what would be your top choices for an expat gig? Mexico, Oaxaca, Morelia, Veracruz, Chiapas? Women, food, vibe, weather, costs, few gringos, etc.- to be considered.

Anyone ever lived in Monterrey long term? Did you like it or did it get boring after awhile?

I did and I got bored after about a week. Very industrial city and you will need a car(Ubers) to get around unless you live in Micro Plaza. Women are top notch though, but I opted for Mexico City out of sheer boredom and lack of walkability in Monterrey.
