No other group in the history of the last 1000 years since perhaps the vikings have been as successful as that of the Afrikaner, who came to South Africa in the 1600s, mainly coming from the Netherlands, France, Germany and Denmark. French huguneots fleeing persecution in France were part of those that came. For 100 years or so after the settlement of a community in cape town they slowly had been moving inland. After Britain came to rule South Africa having been the Dutch who ruled, there was a great voyage similar to that of the American frontier, in the 1837 - 1840 years into the interior of Southern Africa, about 400 miles inland. Great trials were put before the trekkers, with great deal of battles such as that of the battle of blood river. What made a group such as this so successful in overcoming such adversity was religion. Perhaps one of the most God Fearing folk of their time, these people were greatly religious. Now I read their often story often as it proves that being God Fearing is what will push you to go further than the person who isnt. This is something we can take when looking at the story of the afrikaner and apply to our own lives when dealing with advetsity.

Shame they couldn't use any of that religiosity to encourage a little less hard line racialism within their ranks and keep it from overtaking the country and building apartheid. If they'd taken a different course, perhaps the shitshow that is modern day South Africa could've been avoided.

Having had to endure the South African education system in the 1980's, and having had to learn all that rubbish about Afrikaner history at school, I would just like to mention that the idea that they overcame great adversity is mostly mythology and propaganda.

That's not to say that it's not hard core to get in your wagon and live off the land while you travel off into the wilderness, but they really built up a lot of substance where there was none. The skirmish at Blood river, for example, became some sort of epic battle that confirmed the Afrikaners as God's chosen people (I learned at school that the Afrikaners were God's chosen people, so it must be true, right?).

They failed as a power-holding group due to their group allergy towards manual labour. Apartheid was primarily a system for exploiting black labour at an artificially lowered price, the racial supremacy thing was just to get the useful idiots on board (if it was really about race, why did the Apartheid government build massive black-only hospitals with state of the art maternity wings? The Apartheid government basically sponsored the mass production of black people, because more black people meant more cheap workers, dooming white people to becoming an ethnic minority when once white people were about 50% of the South African population). Unfortunately, it also made them dependent on black labour for their wealth, meaning that one black labour could organise effective strikes and labour sabotage, that the entire system they had made for themselves would fall. So rich Afrikaans guys decided to preserve their wealth and give up power. This left a lot of the useful idiots in the Afrikaner middle classes dazed and confused, and angry.

As a collective, if they had been willing to do their own dirty work, their own laundry, their own gardening, their own farm work, their own mining, their own labour, then they would still be in power. They would have herded black people into reservations, and like the Americans and the Australians, and have built up an entire country without them.

But they didn't, because they wanted someone to do their work for them while they relaxed.

Sure, it's a stereotype and it's unjust to apply it evenly to an entire ethnic group, but they failed as a collective, because they wanted things to be easy and sumptuous and free from hard work for themselves, which ironically only gave them the opposite things. Life is funny like that.

The history of the Afrikaners shares many similarities with the Spartans and the Slave-owners of the US south. They all shot themselves in the foot by depending on cheap sources of labour rather than just doing the job themselves.

I can't imagine the kind of crap the globalists would be putting that country through if it were still populated with any relevant number of whites.

I've been really tempted to advocate for those poor oppressed african refugees to be let into Australia. Lead the bleeding hearts down that path of oppressed by the government, discriminated against, etc. etc. and hit them with "yes, lets bring in more white south africans".

I've had some heart-related issues over the years. During those experiences, I found out how influential South African doctors were in this field. A case in point was Dr. Christian Barnard. I think the globalists pretty much owned SA right from the start, or at least after they've won the Boer Wars. Openheimers, Rothschilds owned the country. They're the ones who have benefited from apartheid, and they're the ones who decided to scrap it and sell the country out when it no longer suited their interests. So the OP is really not getting the whole picture here.

SA's transition out of apartheid was poorly done, it's kind of reminiscent of the USSR's savage dismantlying which led to massive theft by the oligarchs and great misery for the Russian people. They should have worked out a different system which preserved their interests while granting rights to the Black majority, a bit like Lebanon's political system, or perhaps some kind of geographic partition deal along ethnic lines like for Pakistan/India.
