Thriving on raw eggs, world's oldest person marks 117th birthday in Italy

...but I think she's lying.

Three Extra Large Grade AA Eggs are 240 kCal.

Inputting her information in a calculator, and I'm taking assumptions per her height/weight--I will use 4'11" and 75lbs with body fat 12%--I'm going for bare minimum here. She is completely sedentary woman who was born on 11/29/1899.
We get base metabolic rate of 540 kCal per day. She needs 595 kCal per day to not lose weight!

She says she lived like this all her life, and I fail to see how. On the surface it looks good--low carb diet, raw food so the nutrients are not leeched out, etc.
But numbers are not there to sustain her to even sit on her ass.

Thoughts?

Metabolics are going up and down tremendously. All those calculations are usually only more or less right - they err however sometimes 600-900 calories. It can be done since her body metabolizes not only the fat of her eggs, but also her own fat. But of course she will have days where she eats much more than that.

Buddy - nowhere in the article is said that she lives ONLY ON 3 EGGS A DAY. It is only stated that she eats 3 eggs a day which the current medical scam-idiocracy establishment considers "unbalanced". Of course in our circles we know that it is quite healthy and likely the reason she is still alive. We can also assume that she may have her own hens or has it from someone she knows - quasi organic or above organic.

The lowest you can get in terms of calories is this, but that guy also eats high potency supplements and protein concentrate powder while keeping a calorie restriction diet. Without the protein concentrate and supplements he would be unhealthy. The woman eats certainly other things as well - she is in Italy and they always eat for various occasions.





That guy eats roughly 1300-1400 calories which is possible with the calorie restriction model and also due to him getting nutrients in a concentrated way. He is also a medical doctor specializing in ageing research.

Yeah - that is why Amun Ra is the world record holder in deadlift - short guys have an advantage.

Of course if he were 6'4, then he would likely need 2200 calories for the same restriction diet, but my argument remains.

Funny vid about "vegan power".

I have come to the realization that you can probably survive on all three methods of eating - paleo, vegetarian or vegan because we have access to specialized foods now, year round fruit and vegetables and also supplements and protein powders.

But paleo is probably still the most tasty healthy diet.

The grandma above survived on 3 raw eggs and likely very little food - all folk above 100 have this in common. They eat rather little, have intermittent fasting (often 16 hours without food incl. sleep) and they have some kind of high-nutrient food intake. Nowadays you have high quality supplements as well to aid in that.

Amun Ra should probably become 100+ easily if he sticks to his regimen.

There is already a society that is doing that in real life, but most there look like wimps. At least Amun Ra is jacked - even if he is short, but that is not his fault.

I'm going to stick with my previous assumption that we're not getting a complete picture of the 100 year old grandma and of Amen Ra.

I'd go so far to say that Amen Ra's secret is a heavy dose of vitamin S and the old woman has good genetics.

I you take that reading, yes, I can see. That is not even implied in the article however. But with current state of journalism I'm not surprised.

So at very best, there is a vastly incomplete picture of the affair.

It would be interesting to see if her doctor published a study on her.

Heh - yeah possible use of steroids, but he did take part in a ADFPF – American Drug Free Powerlifting Federation - competition.





And they do test, so somehow I doubt it - also he would have little reason to juice or even to lie. If he were 6'5, then he would be much less massive looking. Short guys can sometimes look quite bulky if they work out heavily - his training regimen consists of daily lifting - 7 days a week for years with few breaks.

I think that is rather more a very disciplined bloke - those exist.

I might believe the old woman's story. It seems as though people who don't eat a lot live longer than hogs. She probably eats more or less on some days. No one is always eating the same thing all the time. The assume as much is bonkers.

Ra seems cool, but his personality seems like quite an affectation. I was cringing when I heard him speak. Either way, good for him for pulling 600 pounds at his weight and good on him for WALKING the walk instead of being that doctor who tells you "eat healthy, lift weights and sleep a lot" without doing any of that. Also, good on him for being with a woman he seems to enjoy being with.

I Don't quite believe his story about 1,3000 calories but he looks youthful as fuck, so Who knows? Either way, I'd love to know what his steroid stack is. He has gyno (man boobs). That seems a bit unusual for a guy who is really on a super low-calorie diet.
