Hello,

Preface:
A few years ago i started my own business, and since then I haven't done much, if any, dating. I've put everything into getting myself off the ground and established and now that I've accomplished that, I've been working more on myself. I've been hitting the gym, reading books, taking care of myself in terms of diet and supplementation, and I'm happy with the results I've been getting even in this short time.

Anyway, now that you have my own backstory, let me get on to my question.

A few weeks ago, a new girl started at one of my clients' offices. The thing is, she's very shy and quiet. I walked by her the other day and said hello and smiled at her and she literally said hi and smiled and looked down. Seemed too shy to even keep the eye contact. Today, perhaps inspired by Donald Trump's example, I made it a point to break through my own shyness and go up to her and talk and ask her to hang out, made clear my intentions, etc. She said she wanted to and I gave her my little notepad and pen and she wrote down her number and name, which was kind of funny since it's not like I don't know who she is. So I told her I would call her to go out and that was it.

The thing is, I don't really know how to handle someone so shy. Like I said, I've been out of this whole thing for quite awhile and am slightly out of touch with what to do. I've spent a lot of time reading, and I've seen that I should text, should call, should wait 2 days, should wait 3 days, should just say fuck it and send her a text now.

My first instinct is that I should wait and maybe talk to her a little bit tomorrow and give her a call tomorrow night. I already got her number and she's definitely interested, but very reserved. Is what I'm thinking right?

I just wait 48 to 72 hours after getting the number and start texting/give a call and go from there.

I think you are overthinking it.

If shes reserved its ok..as long as shes complying to what you want you keep moving forward.

Text. Don't call. If she is that shy, give her time to respond without pressure.

Text "Hi shyGirlWithNiceTits, this is Bond697". Except don't really text shyGirlWithNiceTits. Use her name....I shouldn't have to explain this.

When she responds, gently get a conversation going.

Once you get her to open up a little, bring up your date location with logistics that let you wander back to your place or her place. Make sure you're doing something fun with buddies or on your own in the meantime because text conversations can drag on a bit.

This is assuming the text conversation gets going. If it doesn't, drop it for a week or more.

Shy girls are fun. Text her and introduce yourself.

Then I would take it this way.
"I'm ready to go out if you are but you have promise me one thing"

She'll naturally be interested and say what.

You: "Idk. I'm not sure you can do it."

This will really get those emotions firing for her. After she responds wanting to know again.

You: "That shyness is cute but I can't be having that on my dates. I need more energy. Makes me seem that I might be too naughty for you anyway."

Either it usually works into them say I promise or they try to defend that they are naughty too. Bridge all that into sexual conversation.

I was overthinking it and you're all definitely right about texting. I will do that tomorrow, keeping in mind the pointers and suggestions I've been given.

Also, philosophical_recovery, that learn to draw post looks quite cool. I'm an IT guy/programmer/reverse engineer and have never been much of an "arts" guy, but I'm definitely going to be giving some of that a try.

Fantastic! It's a great way hijack your brain out of the technical routine. Believe, me, I know!

Just get the booze flowing. Alcohol Trumps Shyness.

Find some type of event in your area taking place soon that involves drinking. For some reason make it sound important that you attend. Make her your plus one.

Just tell her abhout this in person tomorrow when you see her. Don't worry about the texting/calling at all.

Also, she may only be shy at work. Maybe she sucks at her job (she is a woman) and her boss is on her. There could be a million factors.

She might be a whole different person outside of the job site.

Text her instead of calling if she's so shy. But don't saying anything stupid or suggestive. Just random comfort based blahblahblah to warm her up to you.

In face to face interaction you have to be very forgiving and patient. Pick a place where you both can talk freely, no crowds, loud music or chaos. This is a good thing as her whole attention will be focused on you. Bet on booze of course to get her talkative and open up.

Remember, a good sign of interest is where the girl is quiet, attentive and self conscious in your presence. So do not panic when she doesn't flip her hair or bite her lips. It's irrelevant.

Last thing, the more shy the girl the more you have to lead with blind faith it's going to be fine. You cannot count on her green lights. She won't give them to you most probably. Maybe some sublte ones later when loosens up a bit. So trust yourself and be decisive what to do next.

Just to give a bit of closure to this, I ended up texting her and getting no reply at all. The next day she comes out with she's actually seeing someone and doesn't like to date coworkers. I had kind of thought that was the case about the boyfriend, but wasn't sure when I asked her. I have kind of a dumb theory about what happened, but it's time to move on to the next, not dwell on it. I'm glad I actually walked up and said something and didn't just let it go, even if it turned out badly.
