This article shows an extraordinary glimpse into the mind of left-wingers. First, they want to change the meaning of a word. Then they simply remind us that politics is all about identity and that you must conform to the orthodoxy of their dogmas. You are either with us or against us.

Just as someone like Colin Powell isn't "black enough," the writer of this article has question if Peter Thiel really is gay because he is supporting Trump.

I like Thiel quite a bit. He talks a great deal about the decline of Western civlization and the decline of technological innovation that made it prosperous. He actually gives his money to worthwhile causes like the Methusaleh Foundation.

It's no surprise at all that the author is a college professor. He's at Connecticut College. An article like this could get him a job at Yale.

The comments have generally been very negative toward the author. Here it is: "Peter Thiel Shows Us There's a Difference Between Gay Sex and Gay."

I'm surprised that a college professor can't recognize the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. I haven't come across a more blatant example in the last little while.

In a way, he's right. No matter their gender or sexual orientation, Hillary supporters really are extremely gay.

I don't think this is a crucial distinction, and I think it's disrespectful to Thiel to deny his identity as a gay man due to his unique political views. Let the man speak and donate just like everyone else.

By the way, this article should be read by everyone on this forum.

Homosexuality, transexuality, gender are VERY NEW concepts. Every time we use them, we are approving these new political identities. If we keep doing that, we’ll never win this war.

The controversy surrounding Thiel's support for Trump was the subject of an article today in the NYT.

The first piece frames this as Thiel defending his support for Trump against those who are trying to take him (Thiel) down. The piece about the Facebook Clinton donor reads like a press release.

Thiel will be speaking at the National Press Club on Monday:
