Kona provided citations(this is why I respect and like you) and the quote here is from the citation.The FAA suggestion is fair and makes sense but ultimately it is up to the cabin crew to make the call. In this case the flight attendant chose to require nothing from a white guy to prove his medical background, but did not view the black woman as credible.I do not think Delta Airlines is a racist airline, I just think the flight attendant could have played this better-in this day and age even if you do not have a business card or a prescription pad, there is internet on the plane and you can just Google the name of the medical professional.

Looking young really slows you down in life sometimes, I've looked younger all my life. I'm 27 and people think I'm 21. I can't wear hoodies or they think I'm 18.

This is all such bullshit. A total storm in a teacup.

We've hashed this out ourselves over a half a week and three pages, inviting educated and uneducated opinions alike.
The doctor (or what-the-fuck-ever) says "I'm a gynaecologist" and the stewardess has precisely one second to use her infinite wisdom to determine whether said gynaecologist is a suitable candidate to help. When said stewardess declines it's instantly racism, because it's always racism and it will always be racism until the sun burns out.

I for one am completely fucking over it.

^I don't think he's criticizing the writing style as much as what these phrases imply. It's very condescending in a bitch type way.

"You do know that, right?" = I'm saying you're a fucking moron.

"How are you a piece of shit, racist or sexist? Which one?"

It's an extremely slimy and disrespectful way to speak to another grown man, and it was nearly every sentence.

The guy has good points to make, but talking to people in this way ruins the message.

@GM You have a point, I agree with you there. The female doc received her 15 seconds of online fame and got to rant, but nothing will come of it. I would have taken those skymiles points and relaxed. Then again, if I was in that situation, I would have stated I was a doc only once, if she didn't believe me, I would have not answered any questions and went back to my movie like nothing happened.

This is mostly accurate with one clarification: every person who was completed a PGY-1 year is eligible to apply for a state license and DEA, but does not necessarily have to have them.

Plenty of people reach the end of their residency training without having obtained either. Besides the administrative hassles they are expensive to acquire and renew every several years, and some people know they will never practice in the state where they're doing residency.

The exception is that there are some states (California I know is one) which require all residents to obtain their own licenses (by the end of 2nd year I think).

Thersites and Atlanta Man, good luck on the interview trail and with the match. It is a stressful but exciting time, and if you can swing it be sure to do some extended travelling before July 1st hits you like a brick wall.
