I get the "gist" of what Air China is trying to say in their own awkward Mainland Chinese perception of the world.

The honest question I have though is aren't Indians well off respected people in the UK and other parts of Western Europe? The run ins and things I've heard about Pakis has been that they're typically positive people.

I think it'd be some of those North African sects and Arabs that are stereotyped as the culturally assertive ones to an extreme.

Because China is full of self-identifying Muslims who have never prayed once, drink alcohol whenever they want, have never been a mosque, don't know in which direction Mecca is, haven't ever cracked open a Quran, have never been to the Middle East, don't know a single word of Arabic, but don't eat pork.

Muslim isn't scary in China, because every knows a Muslim who is just like them in every way (but doesn't eat pork).

(These people have a good mix of Han genetics and are significantly different that Uyghurs who live in Xinjiang, a territory that Mainland China annexed 65 years ago and has subjugated ever since).

To make Muslims scary, you'd have to admit that China has a security problem out west. It's easier just to say Pakistanis. 90% of Chinese people can't even find their own country on a world map, but they have heard of Pakistan.

How about who gives a shit if what Air China warned about is biased, racist, xenophobic whatever? Every ethnic group has biases towards other ethnic groups and this idea that everyone needs to quiver in their boots about offending the wrong ethnic groups is what's wrong in Western societies these days. What are we, all SJWs now? Yeah ok, the Chinese are racist towards brown and black people. So fucking what? Indians are prejudiced against Blacks, Blacks hate Mexicans, Mexicans hate gringos, Muslims hate everyone and so on and so on and so on. But hey whatever lets be all PC and butt hurt like this UK minister of political correctness and demand an apology. I'm Indian and I could care less what some Chinese airline has to say about me and my kind. Let them say what they like. I don't think they should apologize for jack shit.

In UK yes, as for the rest of Europe, in some of the countries some Indians there tend to be on the poorer side and entered the countries illegally so their status is not as high. The shit that the Syrian refugees are pulling in Europe now was done by some Indians over the last 20 years.

Doc was just speaking in generalities I would not read too deeply into his post. He's basically saying he does not give a shit what others say about other races.

It's mostly a California thing. Los Angeles more specifically. That's a longer topic and not really pertinent to the OP or the topic. You could google up resources regarding the history of LA gangs, LA workforce history, and LA history of race relations, to get started if you want to know more.

Yeah it's a more of a general point about how every ethnic group stereotypes other ethnic groups and how this Air China thing isn't such a big deal. To me at least.

Mostly like, a Chinese tourist may not be able to tell the difference between a Indian and Paki, so to err in the side of caution, it better to just avoid Indians and Pakistanis in general in London.
