Are there cases where you can excuse beta behavior?
Ok so we all have had a friend or family member or just someone we know who is really beta in terms of not standing up for themselves, is too nice and gets taken advantage of, has no confidence or lets women take control of theor lives.
Personally I have had times where I have had little confidence or had trouble talking or getting girls but one thing I could never understand was being bullied or letting women control me, those two things were just never in my thought process, Im guessing because my dad was around and I learned a lot from him.
Not everyone has a dad or father figure around though, not everyone has a person to teach them to be "alpha" or how to have a certain mentality, and some people are genuinely abused whether it be physically or emotionally.
Take this guy for example:

I can point out a bunch of undesirable qualities about this guy and im sure women would agree admittedly or not; but can you get why he is like that from what he explains? I have met people like him, many genuinely good people but have some serious areas that are lacking, no one is perfect and as men we should strive to improve and I have not understood that at times and have pushed some of these people because of they way they act but sometimes it goes a bit deeper than just being beta and alpha.

RE: Are there cases where you can excuse beta behavior?
"Beta" encompasses so many different behaviors that you can't call all of them bad. You need to distill down further what behaviors are bad and good.
Sometimes being "beta" is what gets you into a group. Sometimes being conflict avoidant gets the job done.
Getting taken advantage of by a woman or man is never a good thing.
See what i mean?
With that said, it's time we as a community put this stupid alpha/beta thing to rest. There's nothing more beta than waxing on about what is the most "alpha" thing to do.
Human behavior isn't clear cut or perfect. Be aware of them, but the obsession with it is self defeating. Every time i see a poster mention being alpha/beta i see an image of them sitting in their dark basement fapping themselves to a massive roid guy banging out some slut.

What did our patron have to say about this a few years ago?
http://www.rooshv.com/its-okay-to-be-a-beta-male
Exactly right.
Any guy who walks around thinking in his head that he has to constantly be the loudest, largest, toughest male to any and all third party observers isn't an alpha. He's a compensating insecure joke showing off two of the worst female behavior traits-- catty attention whoring and approval seeking.
Most of the genuine alpha males that I've encountered that I wouldn't feel slighted to subordinate myself to aren't chest-thumpers. They're quietly confident and have a large amount of consideration and respect for the men they lead.
Anyone who obsesses over his "role" is a loser. As Beast1 alludes to, just resolve to be a quality man and don't let yourself be treated like a doormat or an item and you'll be on the right track.

Unfortunately I think it has a lot to do with a guy's overall lifestyle rather than just the specific incidents.
My thoughts are that most guys who let women push them around don't have enough going for them outside of their wife/girlfriend - they don't have goals at their job, or strong hobbies outside of the house; so their mediocre woman is the only thing they have going for them that makes them feel like a "man" - therefore the fear of losing them can be like the fear of losing one's testicles.
So to me the solution is to put most of your energy into your career, your other activities or hobbies like sports, or whatever it is, have a passion in life. If a guy does this he'll naturally not care that much about a woman and won't take shit from her.
