It's amazing how slow the media today is to pick up on what is actually happening in society.

In the UK the media had no idea there would be so many Leave voters(nor did I!).

Brexit and the Trump campaign have a lot in common.

The Trump campaign brings many different type of people together, like Brexit did.

I know rich landowners and low-wage council tenants who voted Leave. The only people I know who voted Remain are all middle-class, mostly white, idealistic, with no sense of national pride like the landowners, and not seeing their wages being pushed down(and other social problems) by mass immigration. Just happy to enjoy the variety of foreign food they can consume and tell their other middle-class friends how cosmopolitan they are.

For some reason I could see all the different types of people coming together to support Mr.Trump, but I missed it in my own country.

Although UKIP and Mr.Trump are not Alt-Right, they're civic nationalists, their success would be/is seen as a step in the right direction from an Alt-Right perspective. It's a consequence of many factors that has led to a pissed off and fed up population in the West.

The media is completely out of touch from being a state mouthpiece for so long that they have no idea how people feel. They're starting to realise that calling the population racist, xenophobic, etc.. is not working anymore.
