Middle East; an untouched beauty known for warm, crystal clear waters, gigantic mountain ranges and one of the ancient history, has so much to offer. There are many countries that make up this amazing region but unfortunately there are very few places where you can visit with safety. Due to so much political unrest, prevailing terrorism and unrest in this region and travel advisories; many travellers especially from west avoid traveling to this part of the world.
These places are a safer, but when you make travel plans please check security as well:

1. Egypt – Nile
All the political unrest and even the recent terrorist attacks, have failed to make this place any less attractive and captivating for the tourists. But if you dove a little deeper, you come across many places that are really safe and perfect for you to visit.
• Valley of The Kings
• River Nile
• Luxor
• Aswan


2. Northern Israel
You don’t believe me right? Well I am talking about NORTHERN Isreal and not the Southern part! The northern part is as safe as other Middle eastern country for travel. I recommend regions like Galilee, National parks and many if you are a history lover then Jewish and Christian sites.

3. Cyprus
This island should be on your list because its already on list for more than 2 million people around the globe. Known as relatively safer place, Cyprus offers specular coastlines and best mountainous treks for hiking. You will be required to leave your comfort zone to explore this beauty but it’s all worth it! Don’t forget to visit towns of Pafos and Agia Napa

4.) Jordan

Petra: Arguably the greatest ancient ruin that the world has to offer. It’s an abandoned city that is a must see, in my opinion. Spectacular.

Wadi Rum: A beautiful desert landscape. It was the site of the movie Lawrence of Arabia. It makes for an excellent day trip. Again, very safe (particularly if you go with an organized tour).

I agree with the list, although I would like to make a few remarks here.


Egypt - as far as I can see, it is reasonably safe. The Sinai Peninsula, however, should be avoided at all costs (even Sharm el Sheik) - it is crawling with ISIS (trust me on that, seen these fuckers with my own eyes)


Israel - all pre 1967 ceasefire line parts are safe, and each of them (Galilee, Center, South) has nice spots to see, whether you are religious or not. Now, if you want to visit spots past 1967 ceasefire line (Hevron, Betlehem..), check the local news all the time, because there is some kind of unrest all the time (such as random stabbings). Oh, and if you are some SJW...you better go home straight away!

Lebanon - although I have never been there (and it is illegal for me!), it is reasonable safe. However, stay away from the Syrian (ISIS is active) and Israeli (more-less quiet since 2006, but still...) borders, and. like above, don't be a stupid SJW.

I agree about Egypt, I would say it is one of the safest countries on earth, and Cairo is one of the safest megacities on earth (maybe it's the safest?). You have a much higher chance of getting hit by a car crossing the street than any terrorist attack. Just don't be an idiot and go to protests to take a selfie and you'll be fine. I have not, however, seen ISIS with my own eyes so I can't comment on that. Egypt for a 2-4 weeks is an amazing experience.

And Jordan usually has its shit on lock so it is safe. Petra and Wadi Rum are amazing. Girls in Amman should be easier than in Egypt, though probably still difficult.

I consider Armenia middle eastern despite it being in the caucuses.

I went there a few months ago, I liked it. It was also very safe.

Jordan- Absolutely safe, many speak english and Petra is a must see. Wadi Rum is also worth the visit and the Dead Sea is much nicer on the Jordanian side. There are other things to see too around Amman and some in the North. Getting around is easy although not as cheap as some of the surrounding countries.

Lebanon- Safe and lots of fun. If you're into history then you can find worthy places, the beach can be nice, and you can even ski in the winter. I'd skip some of the Southern Beirut suburbs unless you know what you're doing. Much is talked about Southern Lebanon but you can travel there if you have a trustworthy driver. There are also wineries and climbing that can be fun.

Egypt- It's safe outside of Northern Sinai. At the moment tourism is down significantly, which is good and bad. The good being that you can visit many wonderful places without the crowds, the bad being you'll be harassed more by people trying to sell shit or scam you. Sharm can be lots of fun but don't miss Dahab if you are looking for a beach location to relax. I enjoy Sharm for the nightclubs and the beach but given the few tourists there now I'd go for Dahab.

Israel/Palestine- Both are safe and easy to visit. Most of Israel is setup for tourists but Palestinians are always happy to see foreigners too.

KRG (Northern Iraq)- Erbil and the surrounding area are interesting. Not setup for tourists but offer lots of hiking and other outdoor activities. It's safe and most Westerns get visa upon arrival. Don't miss Lalish the Yazidi temples.

Dubai- Worth a few days. Anything and everything you could want, obviously commercialized but it can be fun.
