People forget: drugs are very cheap to manufacture. If GSK got into the meth or cocaine or heroin business, the price per pound would drop to a few bucks tops. The prices are only created by the government's activity.

I reckon the best way to deal with this is this:
- Designate an official "drug shithole"
- In the said shithole, all drugs are provided free in any quantity by the government under one condition: anyone caught trying to leave with drugs will be shot
- There is a free bus
- Nobody can be taken there against their will
- Any media released from that city must go through a government censor, lest those cunts somehow twist it into pull-heartstrings "it's everyone else's fault" shit versus they did it to themselves, which gets some turd elected to dismantle it
- Wait for all the druggos to drain into that city (and don't lay a hand on any of them lest you discourage them)

That's actually a nifty idea.

I vote Vegas to be the location for this city.

It is not the USA taking Philippine territory and kicking Filipino fishermen out of their own ocean Exclusive Economic Zone. But he kisses Chinese ass. I wonder if he is owned by the Chinese in some way. The Chinese would be clever enough to recruit a major politician as an agent.

I understand your suspicion but I don't think it's correct.

It's the perogative and in the best interests of smaller SEA nations to play the world powers according to their best interests.

Flipping double birds to China and agitating for war would NOT be in the Philippines best interest especially without concrete U.S. support.

That's why I said Duterte is a political realist. He's a populist, a nationalist, and a next level shitlord but I really don't believe he's a puppet at all.

Truly kissing China's ass would be to retract tribunal inquiry and just give it up in exchange for access to China's seemingly unlimited credit line. It would be as simple as a statement issuance and going from there.

That's clearly not what has happened.

Duterte is walking a fine line and he's making progress in cleaning up bad spots in the Philippines. There's really no evidence to associate him with being a Chinese shill.

No evidence yet. He's got six years. Remember that the USA, Japan and Australia are GIVING ships to the PH Navy to patrol their maritime borders. Yet Duterte is biting the hand and talking shit.

I predict he will cut a lopsided deal ceding sovereignty over Scarborough, etc. to China, giving them full rights to build bases, in return for some fishing rights regulated by China and call it "victory."

We will see.

I remember something like that was tried in Europe (I think it was Holland). It was called 'needle park'. I think there were issues of the junkies spilling out into surrounding neighborhoods.

Yeah I do agree with you on that. I'm not one for cult of personality figures in asia or elsewhere. I even have healthy skepticisim of Trump.

Past track record and current results is all that matters at the end of the day. Everything else is bullshit.

Best intentions, hopes, dreams, etc.. mean fuck all in the scheme of things.

However, thus far Duterte is doing pretty much what he said he would do though. Actions do define a man.

In the very short time he's been in office he's already far surpassed Obama's kept "promises" which does count for something in my book at least.
