[GAME THOUGHTS] - Social Media v. Video Games
I just randomly had this thought.

I think it is better for an average guy to use Social Media than playing Video Games. Video Games are fun but they will destroy you and make you unable to do things.

Using Facebook and such like that is not really the worst thing for Game. It does have the problem of having social validation be the main course of one's mind, but it is very useful to help you network and get female company.

What you think guys?

Nope.

RE: [GAME THOUGHTS] - Social Media v. Video Games
Two different evils and both can be good in moderation for entertainment purposes. I don't see the conflation between them though.

Social media is a great messenger to get in touch with friends abroad or to have a bit of nostalgia. Other than that it's toxic and annoying even being on there with the dumb memes and 1 minute long clickbait videos. Using it to game is just retarded in this day and age as all you're doing is submitting a resume to some chick.

Video games are just as toxic but for different reasons taking up time, rather than as a form of irritation or toxicity. I love strategy games. Darkest Hour, Civ V, Crusader Kings II, etc. Same with a few RPGs here and there. Then you see guys clocking in 1000 hours in games that just came out, and you know they have nothing going for them.

Sure on a rainy day with a cigar in mouth I'll pop open some video games, but that's not exactly the norm for me. Nor is sitting on Facebook for more than a few minutes a day here and there to chat with friends.

The only thing period you need is to minimize usage of both if you actually want to learn to game.

Personally I don't even see the point of this thread.

Out of the two evils Social Media is a superior option since it can be a networking tool and useful to display status to women. IMO, both of them are a waste of time. Were third dimensional beings that are now glued to 2 dimensional screens on a consistent basis. I would rather allocate this time for building character and self confidence. One thing about time is that you will never get it back.

I personally got rid of all social media because you don't really need it, but it can be helpful. If its a poison for you get rid of it.
