I don't order samples - I trust the reviews that people on each product/supplier. The only exception is if I want to send a product to an affiliate, but even then I send straight to them. Normally I set a store up within a few hours, and as long as the supplier has good reviews, you usually don't need to worry. Key word - usually.

If I'm branding a product, however, like a watch for example, I'll order a sample for sure so that I can test the quality. If I'm ordering a minimum batch of 200 watches, I definitely want to take quality control into my hands.

Awesome thread, I'm in the process in researching my niche for this thing. I was wondering, wouldn't your customer see the original receipt if you do it this way? as in the aliexpress seller's receipt indicating the original purchase price. Wouldn't you get some complaints? or do you do something to anticipate this?

In Oberlo, you can go to your preferences and include a comment for the supplier. Leave them a note saying "Item is shipping directly to customer. Please do not include invoice + receipt."

I'll answer this question by saying make sure you can target your niche on Facebook. Which means stay away from:

1. Drug-related products
2. Pornographic material
3. Anything illegal.

Anything else is fair game. Turtles, cats, donkeys, anything can sell if you have a product.

My favourites thus far have been;

1. Workout gear (Hot Yoga)
2. Nurses
3. Aviation products
4. Outdoor products - Hunting, fishing, camping.

I'm tempted to make an entirely new thread since I can't edit this one..So many new developments over the past few weeks.

1. Shopify has its own integrated application now for dropshipping - one that is a bit more expensive that Oberlo, but one that allows you to drop ship from thousands of retailers..Even WALMART! Your product selection is now 10x Aliexpress. It's crazy.

2. FB-Search is an amazing tool. You can search by post. If your product is Hot Yoga clothing, you can type in 'hot yoga', and it will show you every single post related to hot yoga..You can spy on your competitors so easily.

3. Facebook has automatically scaling now. You can increase your ad budget incrementally, instead of having to do it manually each day. They even optimize your ad for you - a lot quicker than before.

Yes, dropshipping is a good way to make money. But 90% of it is marketing. It is very easy to import products with Oberlo.

How will you find your audience? This is the important part.

I only buy them occasionally, most of my follower growth is organic, but just search the app store. There are tons of applications for this.

It's not about finding your audience, it's about finding a product that you can think will sell, and are capable of targeting.

Some products may be awesome, but impossible to market because it's hard to target your audience.

This is why I've said pick a niche. There's riches in niches!

Edit: An easy is example is dogs vs. pugs. Even though a dog-product may be awesome, it's harder to market on facebook. The competition for ad space in the dog-market is a lot larger than the competition in the pug market (or any other individual breed). So to be more accurate, pick a sub-niche. Don't pick dogs, pick a breed of dog. Don't pick sports, pick A sport..etc...

WC - First and foremost , thank you for the data sheet . This thread and similar ones on BHW detailing this method is what inspired me to get started.

I spent quite some time creating a shopify store that looks legit. Everyone I've showed it to is in agreement that it looks pretty sleek.

I created a Facebook page for it and bought 500 likes for social proof.

I'm a day an a half into a FB ad campaign that so far has produced 15 clicks to my website but no sales .

I know it's early days but I have two questions :

1. Not all of the interest pages people like can be selected when Facebook ad targeting . How do you work around this ? And advice on interest targeting in general ? I have a sneaky feeling my targeting is off the mark .

2. Yourself and people on BHW have reported success running affiliate programs , could you expand a bit regarding how you actually find these affiliates on Instagram and what types of metrics you look for to determine how suitable they are . Im assuming it's post engagement ?

I can't help you unless I get specifics really, but in general you need to think like your consumer. Go into audience maker. If you're targeting Yoga, for example, enter in 'Yoga'. It will give you interests. Target those interests, and sub-interests. Continue this process, and test, test and test some more.

- Interaction

That's all you need. I prefer comments over likes, since you can buy likes. In regards to how I find them, just use any of the million tools that help you locate Instagram influencers, or search the hashtags you want to use. You may only get 1/30 influencers that are interested, but keep at it!

WC all day everyday.

The way I usually recommend people to do it is to launch a WC ad with the following steps:

1: Set your conversion to 'View Content' for 25 conversions
2. Set your conversion to 'Add To Cart' for another 25
3. Set your conversion to 'Purchase' indefinitely.

This helps optimize your Facebook pixel, to ensure that you get accurate data.

I am about to setup a dropshipping shop using shopify and oberlo, but have a few doubts.

1) The epacket delivery system is quite unique as it is only available widely for products shipped to the USA. I live in France and would like to target costumers in Norway or Finland but the epacket delivery service is quite rare. Do I use the normal delivery package or is there something else?

This link above states that the USA market is saturated which is understandable based on the epacket delivery issue. How saturated is it? Any body with experience on selling to other countries?
3) If you do sell to other countries, how do you tackle the language problem? The Russian market is huge and the epacket delivery is quite frequent to there

I started to realize that your location and the country you want to target plays a role. For example selling e-cigarettes in certain countries is not viable as it has been banned, but would be a great business in countries with large e-cig users such as Denmark.

This comes back to what WC said about illegal things and targeting the right audience. But is there any way to tackle this epacket delivery problem.

You can use normal delivery, or jack up your shipping rates and/or product prices to pay for express shipping. Either one works. I haven't checked the normal shipping times to Norway/France, so I'm not sure how long it takes.

I hear this a lot. It is is becoming saturated, but not nearly enough that you need to worry. It's a massive market, with millions of different products. There will always be a slice of the pie for you. Just differentiate either your marketing methods, or your product offering.

Whether or not the USA is saturated, it's still the largest market.

I don't sell to other countries. Short of hiring a translator, I'm not sure.

Pick countries that have a high % of english speakers (Denmark, Germany, etc...)
