I'm 29. Unemployed at the moment.

I just had a degree on international business administration.

Can't find a job at the moment.

And I don't know how to manage my time.

First thing I do in the morning is to get up, have breakfast and then hit to gym.

I also spend most of my time looking for jobs. Though I still have a lot of free time and I don't know what to do.

I don't want to do meaningless stuff like playing games. I want to do something productive.

What would you guys recommend?

Good start on going to the gym. Identify little goals you would like to complete in addition to finding a job (ie, learn Russian, build a table, read 1 book/week). Schedule time for each goal and keep a diary or spreadsheet to hold yourself accountable. Also, learn how to cook for yourself while doing this and if you can take any part-time job that may have a networking component to it, such as a waiter or barista, and also just to get out of the house and meet people, do it.

Do you know what you want to do as far as a job? If so, identify some smaller players in your desired industry and approach them and let them know that you would like to work some hours for them with little or no pay to learn more, sort of like an apprenticeship or mentor-type deal. This will give you real-world experience and you will build your value, hopefully to the point of where they start to realize that they need you and can then offer you more compensation and if not, you can take that experience to another company.

Looking for jobs is important but it's important to not make that your entire day, especially if it is not producing the results you want. Just make sure you are spending a good part of your day in some sort of motion (mental, physical) and in front of other people and hold yourself accountable to the other goals you make.

Is there something someone would pay you to do on a project basis if you were not an employee?

If you went to upwork what could you do and what would it be worth?

Have a look through the entrepreneurship thread and see if you have any ideas.

If you had to explain your value but were banned from talking about University or your degree how would you do it?

Do you have any money relative to what it costs to leave where you are, explore somewhere else, and come back not broke?

Your profile says you live in Spain. Everyone is unemployed there. Any ideas?

What do you like? If I were 29 knowing what I know now there is no way in hell I would be looking for any job available online. I would be down at the racetrack in person asking if I could help, and would get involved until I was a fixture at the track or a team until they found a way to hire me. (Insert your own place.)

-Apply for jobs
-Go run or do some cardio or pokemon Go
-Snack (healthy)
-Lurk LinkedIn for recruiters and hiring managers for those open positions (get a free 1 month trial)
-Apply for jobs
-Wind down for the day
-Look for potential jobs to apply for tomorrow, save the links...this way you are not searching when you should be applying and you will be more motivated the next day
-Sleep

Applying for jobs all day will wear you out after a certain hour and you will not want to do it for the rest of the day...or days. I speak from experience, mix that puppy up.

When I was unemployed I took a "month off".
That time my schedule was partially non-existent (I did have obligations that were mandatory).

Afterwards I adopted a routine. It included making my own meals, working out, meeting people and job hunting.

Suggest you use any calendar app (google calendar is good enough) and start putting your schedule on it.
Now follow it.

When you actual face a lot of free time there come some issues.
Do stuff that require money when you are short becomes hard.
Because you are a time master, you have less pressure to do certain things in time. I had some free time too, I went regular to the gym but learning spanish did not went that fast as I want. Also I could do quite more sports because I have more recovery time. I just did manage about 1 hour in average every day. Most of my time I spent with reading about the news instead of something that would really benefit me.
Some people even drop everything and just watch TV or surf in the internet. Also their rhythm becomes like a vampire. They sleep all day and are awake in the night.

So create a list and kind of an schedule what you want to do helps a lot.

Schedule is one thing, but usually it's the emotional side of not having money coming in that makes it hard to really improve yourself.

If you're from Spain, I guess that as an EU national, you can travel to other EU nations for leisure and work..I've read that the youth unemployment rate in Spain and Italy are around 30-50%.

You said that you have a degree in International Business Administration, so in Spain you might have some European companies there who operate on an international market such as Zara?

I'm not knowledgeable of the EU job market, but there are international companies who cater to the high income Western market which aren't going to be insolvent any time soon.

Plus, if you wanna game, you can apply for work at a hostel or hotel, and trust me, you are going to enjoy that type of work meeting foreign chicks to game.

Many people wanna escape the corporate drone lifestyle in the USA and Canada, so therefore, the laid-back work lifestyle in the EU will be beneficial to you, though the jobs may be harder to obtain due to the economic circumstances in the EU.

If you want to earn American income without stepping foot into the US, finding a way to earn ad revenue in Google blogs and YouTube will be a start. You can also take photographs and license them for a fee online, translation services for tourists, security services for tourists, etc.

The thing I like with the EU is having free time is considered a blessing because the lifestyle is laid back. Make full use of it by trying to self-improve, game and earn some $$$.

Unfortunately your degree is pretty useless for the economy/culture of Spain. In Spain it is more about having good contacts to get a job and those jobs will not be the corporate jobs that you are looking for, but working on an olive Grove, construction, working in bars/hotels etc on the coast so I think you are wasting your time in continuing in what you are doing. How long have you been trying and what cut off date are you giving yourself to realise that you may need to have a different skill set to the one you have now, simply because there are too many people with similar skills looking for those same jobs. Look to develop practical skills through self learning, fishing, horsemanship, hunting etc where you can join groups who do these things to network as these are the people who own land especially hunters. First thing you ought to do is work on mindset. You mentioned you don't know how to manage your time which means you've learn to let others do that for you for quite some time. That's going to take some unlearning. One of the things I'll ask is do you like to wake up eat breakfast and go to the gym everyday? Maybe there's a routine you like. Maybe you hate routines. If you hate routines don't get a routine. Just do what you want when you want to do it. Again routines or no routines that's up to you and if you like it, you can still be productive regardless but the non routine method is more spontaneous and thus much less boring(In my experience, others may vary).

How am I spending my day so far:

I woke up put on my new riding leather jacket and gloves to see how well they fit, so far so good, waiting on the pants, boots, and chest/back protectors to come in the mail

Went to KFC and bought a ton of chicken(haven't gone to KFC in over a year)

Watched a few videos on youtube regarding an experiment I'm interested in conducting later this year

Did a little bit of autocad work mainly architectural stuff

Won't be hitting the gym today but am considering getting into the brazilian jiu jitsu gym they have in town which I've been told is rather good

The rest of my plans will come about the day moves forward like every other day all of it my choice

Just got a call yesterday that I'm no longer working. The job was through a temp service so it is what it is. I have a bit of money saved up so I'm not too worried.

In the mean time I have a shit load of books to read. All the time to study to take the asvab test and lift weights.

Your mindset is good and it has the potential to be great.
Because you have the right thought process about life (video games are a waste of time, exercising and being productive is worthwhile)
I will lay some nuggets of useful wisdom on you.

Craigslist is fucking awesome for Networking, Making Money (Bartering, Selling, Gigs and even Jobs) and for Opportunities.
Anyone who tells you to avoid Craigslist is either totally Blue Pill or has never spent any serious time twisting the platform to their monetary advantage.

Lets start with Networking
First go into the Community Section and do a daily search for
1) Business
or
2) Entrepreneur
I have found many ambitious, motivated and determined Business Partners using this extremely basic method.
Currently, I hold Equity in 4 great Companies - 3 of those were acquired using a combination of the above searches.
The number use to be much higher actually, at one time I held Equity in like 6 different companies - however some projects I lost interest in, so I sold my Equity back.
Note: I did not spend a single dime for any of the above Equities, it was given to me!

Making Money
Check out the Free Stuff section for Scrap Metal.
One time I made over $350 in a single hour off of something I got for Free.
Here is how it went down: I drove 30 minutes from my house to pick up thousands of pounds of Metal Button parts from a Business that no longer had a need for them.
I then drove 10 minutes from the Business to their local Scrap Yard and sold the Metal Button parts to the Scrap Yard for $350+
Check out the Gigs section for simple and fun ways to make money.
A couple weeks ago I made $150 doing some Male Modeling for a Technology company that makes Accessories for Headsets.
This was really fun, easy, short and even resulted in some good Networking.
Great for Selling
This is not my expertise as I do not do a lot of Sales through Craigslist, however there are some amazing posts on this very forum about it.
Do a search and get reading!

This is really wear Craigslist shines, if you can force yourself to get obsessed with watching Craigslist on a Daily Basis and learning all the quirks of the platform - the opportunities available are unreal.

Found a Business Mentor (former Senior Vice President of Time Warner Cable) whom I ended up becoming very close friends with
and now Co-Own a Business with.

Start now, get your feet wet and have your mind blown.
Your Mommy and Daddy may of told you to avoid Craigslist, but they also told you Women were pretty little snowflakes that deserve constant praise and respect.

And to add to this great post... casual encounters. A couple years ago I would post a couple ads a week in the M4W section. I received so much pussy via CL it wasn't even funny. Some great, some meh. But it's a great passive way to potentially get laid while you focus on bettering yourself, which you should be doing while unemployed. Put an ad up and see what comes back, leave it up for a couple days: rinse and repeat. Lots of spam and it's kind of died down with tinder, et al, but there's still chicks looking on there.

And to the OP, stay in shape. Both your mind and your body. And don't rule out the trades if you want to completely change careers and stack some cash. Let me know what trade, if any you would be potentially interested in and I can lend some advice.

That was a great post (thank you both). Just as I was making plans for my free time,that temp service called me back with another job that starts Monday . Brother needs money but hell again I coulda used that time to get what I needed done during the day .

I just finished reading jack Donovan's a sky without eagles.so there's that for doing something productive.

Plus I got paid today anyway so i consider this a 4 day weekend.

Things to do when you're unemployed/underemployed:

1. Exercise to stave off sadness.

Duh

2. Really consider what you want to do.

You can send out applications willy-nilly but if you know what you want to do then those applications have a lot more power behind them.

3. Update your resume and get back in touch with people you've worked with.

You never know who just left a position and can get you in with minimal effort and a good word.

4. Start up a side hustle.

In china, there is no excuse to have no money. Just lost your job? you're officially a freelance English teacher until you find a full-time job. If you have a degree in business, I would consider being a math tutor for a bit of time. Where I am from, if you are good, you can charge 80-100 dollars an hour as a math tutor. I occasionally teach English on the side for about $50 an hour. If I teach 2 classes a week that's $100 and $0 overhead.

5. Educate yourself

Find the top 3 writers in your industry and grab their books. Study them. Hell, I might even try and find their personal emails and email them. When I was underemployed I used to email the fuck out of manosphere guys and non-manosphere guys just trying to make connections. In a strange, convoluted way, that helped me a lot. Sometimes that rich, smart fucker drops some knowledge that you totally needed to hear and wouldn't have gotten anywhere else.

Besides the good recs in this thread (exercise, sleep, meditation) you could learn many programming languages that will expand your skill set and career prospects. Try Java, C, C++. You can also pick up an Arduino or Raspberry Pi and follow Instructables. Lots of cool projects to learn.
