I’ve been disappointed with the online forum but I’ve had the opposite experience with meeting people offline. I think the forum is still in a golden age in terms of meeting real people in real life so I want to reiterate what LINUX said about some people needing to log off and go live.

The forum has a very different culture offline. There are plenty of guys out there who never post in the Everything Else or Politics sections. You might not recognize their screen names but they have dozens of rep points from meeting guys and helping out guys in real life. I’ve met guys who stopped posting years ago and a guy who has never made a post but these guys are out there in the real world and always willing to help out a newbie in their city.

Social media has made the world less social and western society is shitty towards men now. You got to be smart about how you deal with those things and the real world can sometimes be a lot more positive than an Internet forum.

Great post, birthday cat.

This is still the only forum I frequent regularly and it's because I value the information and resources here. As far as I know I am still in the Golden age of this forum and hope the quality stays the same

I tuned out around then, and many other reasonable guys did so as well, or got banned for speaking out against the nonsense being pedaled by folks who spend way too much time online going down rabbit holes.

It's Roosh's forum, though, and if that's what he wants, that's what he gets, he's making the transition as an author of game manuals to an author of alt-right books, and changing the forum membership to the target market for those books correlates with his change in direction as an author.

It's only a week or two ago that I started posting again, but I just keep to the quality posts such as on careers and traveling and stay away from the covert racists and tin-foil hats. I do wish some of the more reasonable folks hadn't been banned, as they had quite a bit of positives to contribute to other sections of the forum.

Hopefully it gets better after the election or if Roosh's new book sales don't justify the turn in the forum and he makes a pivot back to game books. But in fairness, it's his forum, and that's just the way it goes, if you're a reasonable guy, just be quiet or get banned, this was originally a safe space for men, but it has now become a safe space for covert racists and conspiracy theorists, so tread lightly to avoid triggering them.

You're basically asking for a warning with a statement like that. There's a more diplomatic way to say you preferred a different time without openly attacking people who like the political side of the forum.

RE: Did the forum have a golden age?
Spaniard, while I understand where you're coming from it isn't true. That is only 1 section of the forum and even that place is highly contested by dudes who do not agree with that sort of thing. Do not generalize about this forum and the men on it. I'd go so far as to say that at least 50% of the regular posters don't even touch such threads.

I occasionally peak in and exit fast. I do agree and don't like those sorts of threads, but there is a reason that every sub-forum on here doesn't have a ton of race threads: this isn't a race discussion forum. It comes up, but I think this forum self-polices quite well.

If a highly established member were to start a race trolling thread he could find himself banned VERY quickly.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

RE: Did the forum have a golden age?
In the early days of game, guys were still figuring things out (defining a common vocabulary, streamlining techniques, etc). So they had a reason to stick around for a while. This built a community and camaraderie, then the eventual rivalries and fights.

Now that the hard work has been done, documented, and is so easy to find, newbies do not have to spend much time here to get what they came for. So the next generation of the community doesn't develop to replace the old one. And people ask "Is the golden age over?"

But one day a new field of game will evolve, and a new group of trailblazers will form to discuss the new techniques. New inside jokes will develop. They will laugh and call it "the second golden age". And the cycle will begin again.

There was a lot politics in the past too, it was just of the toxic liberal variant, if you go back and read threads from say Hooligan Harry (who was mentioned), you will find he rage quit over two very high repped members trolling him with 'white priviledge'.

I don't understand how there are certain folks among our ranks that are unable to have adult conversations that very much impacts the abilitty for men to spit proper game.

Right now there are men in college who can have their lives ruined because of what we teach here. There are men in Europe who are at ground zero for world war 3.

If you want to enjoy the decline so be it. There are forums where that's all they want to do.

The essence of this forum is more than game.

Sure, but I think a lot of that is for Roosh to decide. I"m not saying it's you, but A LOT of guys are really pushing the racial discourse in a hamfisted way. Lots of no rep, 10 post wonders showing up and trying to push this race discussion. I don't think it really fits the forum or game.

Personally I got tired of being banned by Roosh several times and basically skip the race/religion thread, except for very rare cases. Actually I have been finding many nuggets in all the other subforums, especially those I never went to (like Weightlifting or Travel), and of course lots of gold in the Moma-Rudebwoy thread.

RE: Did the forum have a golden age?
Whether there was a golden age and it's gone or not, I don't know. But if you look up old posts it's easy to see the difference in requirements to become a big time player.

The 2012 player is an approach machine. He works remote or is early retired. He's exploring new corners of the world. He doesn't give a shit about politics, he just wants to bang. Maybe he lifts; he most certainly drinks.

The 2016 version is a fitness freak with 10/10 Tinder photos. He pipelines before getting to a location that he's probably read about on the forum. He's got multiple sources of income and impecable style.

As far as the Game section, we had to crawl before we could walk. Beforehand the forum was way more focused on discussing basics like kino, day vs. night game, how to approach a group, how to elderly chat, binge drinking, flaking, asshole game. Threads now are more niched, specific apps, specific demographics, burning out after years as a bachelor.

That's probably why some people look back to posters like G, Mixx, Henc, HH, McQueen, Blurred, with such awe. They dropped a lot of basic knowledge, but as they say "the best to the basics better". We can look back to their stuff and see how despite new developments in game and technology, so much of what they wrote is imutable. (To their merit guys like WIA have been doing that for years now and thankfully continue to be an asset to this community.)

Overall as a forum we are one hundred percent more bitter. There is no poosy paradise that lasts forever, best case scenario we find a good spot that will give as good times and then on to the next one.

As an individual though I'm very optimistic about myself (and I think many other RVFers should be) because there's never been so much good information out there for whoever wants to develop himself and general competition has never been lower. Just look around. There's so many dipshits it's not even funny.

A few years ago, guys were pretty focused on building their lifestyle. I think there was more of a polarization over time in that the guys who are focused on building the ultimate lifestyle became completely committed to it, to the detriment of the rest.

Meanwhile many got involved in culture and politics because they sense that no matter what lifestyle you develop, if we go full SJW apocalypse there will be no good place to run to and whatever life you intented to have will be a shadow of what it could have been.

RE: Did the forum have a golden age?
If Trump wins, the forum will shift away from politics and back towards game, lifestyle, and (introducing) raising families.

If Trump loses, the forum will shift towards survivalism and keep the same focus on politics as we prepare for the inevitable Civil War.

The guys on here who hate politics are babies that refuse to accept politics matter a tremendous amount. Man is a political animal. If the political environment becomes so toxic that life is unbearable, then of course men are going to talk about it.

I'll never understand the guys who cannot have civil political discussions without having meltdowns or going into "everything is racist" mode. How can anyone live like that?

Also the "Golden Age" of game on this forum was 2011-2013. That was when the innovators were posting here, for free, sharing tons of tips on how to get laid. Nowadays, it seems like no one wants to share game info for free anymore. Men are greedily hogging information for themselves if they discover a way to get pussy.

Again, this is a reflection of our political situation. Feminism = fucked up women, decreased birthrates (that started decades ago), fat women, and criminalizing of normal male behavior (illegal to make an approach on many college campuses). Colleges are also having decreased enrollment due to shitty economy, women go out less and use tinder due to not having money to go out, and as things get worse male thirst increases in response which makes it harder for men to get laid.

Even Tuthmosis and Excelsior agreed with me when I wrote my analysis of the future of game. That's why the focus is on making money now instead of discussing game and lifestyle tactics, the music is stopping and everyone wants to make sure they have a chair.

A lot of guys stopped posting here not because they wanted to, but ultimately because posting is a luxury and frivolity that many cannot participate in. Especially if you have nothing of value to post, or if you find no reason to share your valuable info... why bother?

Shit half the guys on here probably don't even recognize or remember those names, I've been a member since 2009 so I've seen the changes first hand. I'm not trying to complain, it is what it is, it's Roosh's forum, always was and always will be. I will say that it's too bad that so many guys got the ban hammer, or willingly decided to put themselves into "exile".

Considering Roosh is all about free speech, it's kind of interesting that he's alienated so many guys who disagree with the mainstream thought on the board. I myself have received "warnings" when I spoke out on various threads. A lot of guys just got sick of it and decided to leave....

People often see one side of things when it fits their biases. I'm not referring to you, OGnorCal707, but in general.

Before a certain contingent arrived here, there were no race arguments.
It was simply never brought up, except rarely and for the most innocent game-related reasons. I'm sure that you remember that time.

After the contingent arrived, the board took on a nasty "white privilege" tone that is still lurking in the underbelly here, only kept at bay by a backlash, and other threads took on less political but still agitating racial tones. That's when I left.

So, keep in mind that the first racialization of the board came with a new liberal contingent. If that contingent ever became a national majority, then you'd likely perceive a "healthier" tone here and wouldn't perceive the guys with Right wing interests who were alienated.

I don't agree with a few facets of racial politics, in the event that they are mentioned here:

racial supremacy in that one race has some type of moral right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness at another's expense,
racial double standards, and
any dismissal that race is always going to be a factor in politics.

The first is immoral and politically unreasonable,
the second is immoral and politically unreasonable, and
the third ignores a central pillar of immutable political reality (specifically, the cultivation of and nature political power), and thus it fatally injures the legitimacy and the usefulness of the political discussions on the board, in general, to the extent that they become absolutely pointless because there is no way forward without dealing with that third rail in a manner that reflects political reality and not political correctness, hopes, and dreams.

Why is a longer discussion.

A lot of the current racial discussions that turn into battles are because guys don't actually understand the politics they are engaging in, and thus get upset with points of fact that they should resolve themselves to in order to move the more important matters forward and advance their (and our collective) personal interests in a real way; no matter what their race.

This current period is in contrast with the period when guys were simply being dressed down with liberal propaganda under no pretense of racial political parity.

In essence, on one hand the racial political discussions are too inherently advanced for this board's sensitivities. On the other hand, I perceive that the Left doesn't want a calm discussion toward a political even ground.

In discussions here, people want to be friends and don't believe they can be unless they capitulate to other's political sensitivities (a dynamic that points to the impossibility of a rational political discussion on a diverse board), people disrupt and inflame conversations due to favoritism and wanting to gain the favor of perceived alphas, people have emotional reactions because they are still operating on an emotional level, or they simply want to disrupt a logical discussion for reasons of perceived personal political interest. Whatever the case in any instance, it leads to a certain amount of denial or avoidance of political reality; making political discussions on this board, in general, limited in use beyond an accounting of news and wishes. Simply, there is no usable path forward presented.

And that's okay. It's a game board. However, what it also means is that it's both silly for guys to lament the propensity for moves toward racial discussions, given the popularity of the political forum, as well as to think that such discussions will lead to anything productive.

(07-18-2016 01:35 PM)Spaniard88 Wrote:  The Golden Age was before the forum became a place where jew-bashing, conspiracy theories, and soft-core white supremacy became tacitly accepted, if not encouraged.

^^^ The above quote is a great example of the type of tone that will always limit this board's usefulness in terms of political discussions. Does he make a point? Definitely. Does he balance it with any concession that would be actually productive and reflects social and political reality? Absolutely not.

It simply means that this board isn't as tribal or politically effective as some people believe it to be. And that's okay, as long as you don't pretend that this is the pinnacle of the type of conversational environment that will lead us out of the social mess that we are in.

We are approaching a sort of forum tribulation.

I believe firmly the Messiah walks the earth in accordance with omen and prophecy such as I have been blessed or cursed with.

One day soon we will use our real names here with no fear of reprisal.

One day soon.

You want to bandy about the Return of Kings?

Talk big silly words?

Write vapid articles intended to draw bad attention?

Fantastic, ye internet warriors.

I AM a king, returned, first footsoldier of Christ, and WILL see the world set to right. I have absolutely nothing left to lose. I raise a terrifying army to sweep the four corners and crush Legion.

Aye, Hades God of the underworld I will remain, but it is not my true name.

RE: Did the forum have a golden age?
I think it will depend on the user.
When I arrived to the forum, i read and re-read each thread on the game section.
I realized that the shortcut to game was Style+Frame. It then lost all interest to me. I go there once in a while to see some new threads.
As I lost interest in the game section, I was losing interest in the forum and started to look to the other sections. Since I'm a very politically involved individual, I spend 95% of my time on the politics thread.

So, IMO the golden Era will be when you join and you get a round of red pill shots, sucking up all the info, reading until your eyes cry at 4am, researching, thinking what could you have done wrong with a or b, finding a way to reconnect with them and get the notch. When you become more versed in the art of gaming women, you will loose interest in absorbing that information, and you will jump ship.

"Golden" is a subjective term so it just depends on each mans perspective.

For me. the "golden era" is now!

I just can't bring myself to say that any day is more important than today..
