That is what I have, Osprey Farpoint 55, Caribbean Blue. Nothing is wrong with it. I feel like it's a start and I doubt it will slow me down, as long as I pack light.

Frank, take a look at the weekender bag I posted. Its perfect for what you want if you're carrying around a jacket and shoes. Problem with this bag is that you'll look so slick, might attract thieves

Geez Stickman, setting me on a mission here, for success lol.
Have had people say that I could pass off as a local, don't know if that makes a difference for theft. I'm Dominican.
In a way, its the best of both worlds for hiking and going out. Love how smooth and convenient it looks. Yet..... it's pricey (Hook & Albert).
If I had a passive income and stayed at a place of my own, I would consider it. Will keep in mind later on, just not now.

For now, I'm just about to get my feet wet on this trip (first time for long term travel). It'll be eight months long.

The link, in case someone wants one; perfect, but rather expensive (as good luggage that lasts is, I admit; $400) and possibly too big for Airplane carry-on; maybe it is the max, at 45 linear inches, but if packed enough will be bigger. It's not merino wool but a mixed thread that is made for durability.

Chinos and v-necks. That's all you need. Chinos are light and come in different colors. I've hiked in chinos in the jungle. Protected me against mosquitos and tree branches. It was the mountains so it was pretty cool. Either way they are versatile. I rock stretch v-necks that hug my body. Express have them. Pretty expensive but we'll worth it plus they have different colors.
I was in PR last month and dallas last weekend and was one of the better dressed guys in the bars I went to.

Outside that, I'd say take a blazer that you will wear during your flight. You don't have to pack it and it will keep you warm during the long flight. Have fun and knock them Arge bishes down.

Great thread guys. I don't like chino's because they have shallow side pockets (instead of semi-horizontal), and gravity tends to steal my phone and keys out of those kind of pockets. Any suggestions for chino's in a good non-stinking fabric that don't have this problem?

I travel with carry-on only as a safety measure, and I lock all zippers while in transit. Currently I use a pacasfe venturesafe thing, but it's ugly as fuck. Any good-looking but functional backpack in carry-on size that doesn't look like it's a neon sign or a beaten to death skunk, that you know of?

Last but not least: I wear shitty clothes all of the time (dirty sneakers, smelly tank tops, one dress shirt etc.), and I had little problems getting girls (not only in Phils, but also Japan, Eastern-Europe and the US). I've been working on my wardrobe for my sake, and I'd just want to point out that if you are not fucking now, putting on a suit won't help. But if you are fucking and want to target a certain demographic, changing attire might help. (I fucked a famous business woman, and I don't think I could have done it if it wasn't for my very nice dress shirt / dress pants).

On shorts: if you want to have good-looking shorts that can double as workout and swim shorts, check out O'Neil Hybrid. There are also shorts by billabong. You can wear them both as casual shorts and swim in them due to the material they are made of. They dry easily and you don't have to wear any underwear under them. I throw two of those in my bag, and whenever I don't have to look too cool, I wear these.
