Walked in, the entire place was girls all staring into their smart phones.

Sat down next to one of them, and asked, "Are you texting to her?" pointing to another girl also on her phone, so close it would be absurd. (other end of the bar)

"Oh, no!", big smile, and the conversation ensued.

Probably a variant of Roosh's technique of opening by framing them as rude and putting them in a position of proving that they're not.

Funny, a guy I knew in DC would do an opener similar to that.. "Are you guys just texting each other right now?"

I like Mixx's text opener better. Don't know if he still uses it though.

this is a bit of an end run, but I wish to reiterate the benefits of girls who ride bikes-- they've bought their own cell phone jammer and are improving their asses on it.

It is also easy to just start riding with her--she doesn't know here you're supposed to be going.
