A way I approach life is to assume that every other person going through it is exactly like me - thinks they are unique, has bigger problems than anyone else, wonders what will happen of his memory when he dies - only grown up in different circumstances.

What happened here is that I lost control of this maxim and got caught up in someone else's life story. For better or worse I was not dictating the terms of my own life. And the more I think about it 1 year later, the more I realize that is simply the way the world works.

We can't always control everything.

Whether it's a soldier catching a bullet in the throat or a 38 year old bachelor dying from esophageal cancer in 4 months, or selling your acreage to an oil and gas company and making millions, life happens to us, no matter our own sense of self-importance.

Wow . Good this thread showed up.
It was for sure cathartic to review and identify all those red flags and I imagine you didn't even flagged all of them in your post .
Like you said it was a gift if the miscarriage was true.
I was dumped of a semi LDR of two years and realized that out of the 10 red flags deal breaking list I have for EE girls she failed on 7. But the love bombing and specially thinking we are unique ,and what we read in the internet only happen to others puts some fog and cloud on our minds . That and the mind blowing sex , I will never be sure if I was with a BPD or just a professional gold digger but I almost started going to church to thank god that I never impregnated her and that she just found another target two months before I moved her to my country !!

TL;DR but I get the gist of it from the comments.

The reason crazy women draw us in is because we get wrapped up in the emotional heave and ho they bring. They love hard and passionately and say all the things we dream of hearing, and the next minute they ignore, reject, cheat, etc. They are intensely feminine and the pure physical and emotional up and down frustration they cause men triggers our hind ape brain to work harder. For understanding. For approval. To gain stability than can never be had. It's a divide-by-zero equation. It always ends in chaos and disharmony. The tumultuousness if these relationships keeps them in the front of our brain so we become a passenger instead of a driver in our lives. The dissonance that the crazy instable female brings creates a fire that we are constantly trying to put out and monitor Incase it roars back up. It can't be something in the background. It's stressful and unhealthy for the male brain to deal with.

This is why you must temper your emotions, and master the willpower to withdraw attachment from auch females. Have fun with them, but do not invest.
