Go with what works for you.

I find girls can handwave any direct insult away due to their inflated ego.

My tactic is to start with the insult you want to say - (Insult A) - then quickly go backwards in the logic chain in how you arrive at A.

So maybe you end up with Statement B and and Statement C that, together, logically lead to A.

That being said:
