johnbozzz was given multiple warnings (80% level at time of ban) for thread spamming and ample time (months) to change his behavior and get a better feel for the forum, but he refused.

In a serious moment, I think john didn't know how to interact with people nor did he have much emotional control. Seems like he might be an obsessive individual and he just couldn't take the thoughts spinning in his head. He got warned up to 80% and still couldn't stop himself like an addict. Maybe he is reading this and is upset by it. But if he takes it the right way, this can be a growing moment. He sounded young, this lesson can serve him for the rest of his life if he chooses to learn from it.

Or he can be bitter and angry, but that won't serve him well.

Nah, he was a troll, pure and simple; a troll who always titrated his plaintive interrogations with a certain maniacal restraint which is one of the quality troll's ultimate tells. His mock-naive but always essentially whining forbearance in the face of indecisive and never sufficiently stern abuse only marked him out further as a solid troll. The mods, if anything, erred on the side of mercy for too long; the seemingly harmless troll subtly poisons and pollutes a forum more than any other and should be given no quarter.

There are three things a man must never sentimentalize, and they are these: women, trolls, and losers. Have a good realistic take on all three, and you'll go far.
