Seriously, the entire divorce industry is a fucking monstrosity. If a women really has been a good wife and given her husband healthy children and supported him throughout the hard times, she should get part of the money. But that should be capped at something 'reasonable' like a couple million. If she wanted more she should have applied for a position.

But enough leeches that feed off this and enough incentives to keep the system like this.

I understand Musk in that she's hot. But he can get many ultra hot chicks and a new one every day. So if you marry one make her give you more children for crying out loud. He has five sons from an earlier marriage, so why has he not gotten more beautiful kids for all the money he has spent on this broad.

I wouldn't be as pissed to give a billion to my ex-wife if she had given me four smart, healthy and strong sons. Now? Now he is just paying a lot of money to what amounts to a very expensive escort.

Things like that always make me wonder if there's a way to profit from rich people's blue pill idiocy. Basically all you'd do is slap them if they are about to do something as stupid as marrying their ex-wives again, possibly even without a prenup, and tell them "don't be an idiot".
Call it Red Pill consultant, or something like that.
You could even ask for an outrageous amount of money, it would still be significantly cheaper than a divorce to your clients. Think of it as an insurance.

Also, in case she really goes for his wealth and there's no prenup, the government should intervene this time.
Why? Because in this case, it's in the state's and the people's best interest that Elon Musk keeps it.
Think of it that way:

You had me until the "couple of million" being reasonable. If I lose my job, nobody gives a shit about what "lifestyle" I've become accustomed to. Why should it be any different for marriage?

Clearly when women divorce, they just want to divorce the man, not his money.

Even unemployment benefits have a cap and I have a hard time believing that being the pampered wife of a billionaire should entitle you to millions, while Joe 9-to-5 gets capped at $450/week when he loses his job. And it's not like she's some poor Amish housewife who's been cast out of the community in 1895.

From Musk's, he found a woman, they fell in love, they started having problems and perhaps too hastily came to divorce as the answer. Then, realizing they may have made a mistake, started to rekindle their former love and times were good...for a while. Then, the same old cracks started to appear and spread. Soon, they were at each other's throats again until one day she announces she can't take it anymore and wants a second divorce.

From her perspective, "Yeah, so like, I don't think I got enough money last time and I'm pretty sure I can do better, but like...uh, no one's as rich, or at least as stupid as my ex...so maybe I should just, ya know, get back together with him for at least long enough I can get my hands on, like, a billion dollars." This conversation (or something very similar) was likely had while at lunch with a friend in Beverly Hills, plotting her future divorce like a couple of mercenaries, all while twirling her hair around her finger and chewing her food with her mouth open. At least that's the image that pops in my head.

I respect and admire Musk's vision, intelligence and hard work, I think what he has done with his companies is nothing short of spectacular but he's an absolute idiot, it's hard to believe bazilionaires get played like this. I always thought these types of people not only had very expensive advisers and lawyers to keep everything under control and they themselves had enough common sense and street smarts to be immune to shit like this but apparently this is not the case.

eh, i stopped carrying so much about other people's affairs.

If hes rich and can afford it, more power to him. There is no wipe-out risk so its almost meaningless to him and its not like his purchasing power or lifestyle changes.

Where i do object is when the divorce bankrupts your business or forces you to change your lifestyle.

I am not in the position of buying dreams though so Im not sure I'd make this mistake.

Its a fine line to walk between being a bitter old man and being a wise old man.

We have no idea his situation, and while I don't personally know Elon or really follow him past what he's doing at SpaceX, Tesla, and SolarCity I am pretty confident this isn't a horrible divorce, but rather a move to allow him to focus on his passions, I've even heard they are still friends.

The article is extremely bias and leaves out a lot of widely known information about the couple. it is common knowledge how much money he gave her i don't actually remember I did know about a week ago. Sometimes people divorce with children and remain friends it does happen.

If you're really hating in this thread I would ask WHY and look in the mirror for a solid 20 minutes and assess where you are at in life...
