Hey Guys,

I'll be traveling to Houston, TX for work this weekend. I will be flying in on Friday and I get to choose my hotel for the night. I heard the galleria was nice but all of my work will be taking place in sugar land area.

I was wondering what the best area in Houston would be in terms of logistics? I will not have a car and want to be in a part of town that has bars/clubs within walking or 5-10 min taxi distance. I was thinking the Westin Oaks or Galleria?

Also any recommendation for good bars and clubs in Houston? Looking to game a little bit the one free night I'll have.

Without a doubt midtown is the best area to go out in. Woodrow's, 3rd floor, pub fiction, Celtic gardens, dogwood(might be the best), gaslamp(best looking girls), shot bar are all within walking distance of each other. This is where all the hot young professional party type girls go out on Friday and Saturday. You will see some unbelievable talent at every single one of those bars. Just walk around and see which bar is packed and go inside.

This is near downtown so its about 30-40 minutes away from sugar land but there's not much going on in sugar land in terms of nightlife. Galleria area is nice but doesn't have good nightlife like midtown, it's more upscale steak houses and wine bars. That area caters more towards business travelers.

Another good bar recommendation is Kung Fu off washington street. Pretty much the hot midtown crowd but in another part of town. Washington street has a number of bars so you could bar hop around there, but midtown is hands down the best area to go out in with the best looking girls.

Yes sir have fun my man. Let us know what you think after you go. Id say gaslamp and dogwood are probably the go to spots, but a little more dressy environment. The other places I mentioned are more casual.

Also, if you're looking for a strip club recommendation the men's club near the galleria is the best strip club in town. They have a super cheap happy hour and free buffet so sometimes I like to start my night out there before going out to get me in the mood lol.

Don't know of too many hotels in the midtown area, but downtown is Closeby with a ton of hotels, and you could just take a cheap Uber from there to midtown. Hotel zaza is one of the nicer hotels and it's close to midtown as well.

I found some decent deals online in the galleria area might just have get a room there. I'll try and stop by the spots you had mentioned and give some feedback. My first night there I'll be solo and I would consider my self a newb but Saturday night I'll have "wing man". I was reading on some of the gents club and the Men's Club was highly regarded but I also heard that the clubs are becoming stricter due to busts and tighter regulations. Still may stop by there since we can't drink at the clubs up here in WA.

So how did the weekend in Houston go?

I would say day gaming in Highland Village, Rice/Millitary is a good choice. Then hit midtown for the night.

Great post. I'm going to be in Houston for the Final Four and figured RVF would have solid intel on the hot spots.

We are staying out by NRG Stadium, would you recommend using Uber to get into Midtown or would the Metro Rail be safe/efficient? I know in Charlotte and Phoenix the Light Rail is legit but wasn't sure about Houston.

I've heard about Houston's talent and excited to see it first hand. Also, there should be a decent amount of hot coeds/alum from NC, OK, and the Yankee schools in town for the weekend.

@cattle Sure. If you want to be a weekend warrior. Better to go out in the heights during the week. Find a girl who's boyfriend just dumped her or just lost her job.

I'm a little drunk now and memory is foggy, I did take some notes on specific bars and nights when I was there, I'll see if I can find them.

Sounds like i should have met up with mkr420/gpx90210. I was with a bunch of couples in their 30's who's main focus was the final four, not partying and chasing skirts. I have more info on attending a final four than Houston itself.

There were lots of hot bitches and bars in every part of town going off Thur-Sat. Off the top of my head I would put Houston solidly in the tier 2 US category, with places like Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Charlotte in terms of quality and quantity.

Go check it out. Meet up with some of the H-town crew. You won't be disappointed.
