I don't like any of that. If you're a fan of Saint Laurent, why don't you just save your money and wait for the new Celine that is now under Hedi Slimane who designed all of the good stuff at SLP anyway?

This goes back to a very basic discussion, but why would you want a "traditional" hard leather sole for your dressier shoes? Other than "muh tradition/muh classic"?

For 5 years now Ive been trying several great shoes makers in France and even though their products are of great craftmanship, the traditional ones with hard sole always feel very uncomfortable. Which is all normal since it doesnt absorb shock as much as a rubber sole does. You would need to condition yourself to get used to it, which is not always a good thing for people with back problems.

Rubber/PVC sole are less dressy but frankly the higher end ones are very well made and look just as good on some oxfords/wingtips as the hard soles, and your feet are so grateful for the ease it brings.

Got an excellent pair of handmade wingtips boots in oxblood and dark blue. The leather are as soft as virgin's skin but the hard sole really kill it for me.

Is it just something that you either like or not like, or is there any real benefit to hard sole?

As long as the shoes itself is made from quality leather and sewn on not glued, I dont see why trade comfort for a minimal gain in style.

Very true. And if you do end up buying dress shoes with a leather sole, you can always have a cobbler add rubber under the heal and toe areas.

I had trouble with sliding around everywhere on a pair of leather-soled shoes I bought, but after I added the rubber layers, I never had issues.

I'm debating getting some black lacoste drivers in an effort to make my look a bit classier, and edgier. I fucking love black.

I've been thinking about getting more flashy with my dress too, usually the better I dress, the more confident I am. I'm thinking about getting a necklace with a rather large cross on it (maybe like orthodox style cross) so I'll have some bling and stand out from everyone else.

Thinking about going more of a streetwear angle and getting one of these sweatshirts, also, repping the alt-right with the bigass eagle. This may be edgy enough for me to get more IOIs.

Well thanks for the input but that suede jacket you posted looks shit.

On a brighter note, I was shopping today and managed to find a black double breasted pea coat that is cut properly so it fits. Very happy with it. It’ll do for spring.

Breathability, sleek profile, they look better when feet are up. Runner soles look odd when paired with a suit.

That said I do have some dress shoes with rubber soles that I wear in wet conditions.

I just can't find a good picture of them online, you'd have to see them in person to be convinced.
In any case they do a great job of making my size 46/47 feet look small.

So they look great, cost 40 euros, are designed in France (and made in some random shithole), plus the brand means THE SPORTY COCK - let's be honest here, it can't get much better than that
