Yinon Magal is a former journalist who ran for office.
He was elected as part of the Jewish Home party (Religious party).

Last year he was accused of sexual harassment via social media.

He had immunity is a parliament member. He chose to resign and was investigated by the police.
He was slandered all across the Israeli media.

This week the police announced that they are closing the case.
The guy simply asked anyone who accused him to step forward and press charges. Talk about having a pair.

The response of his first accuser:

Quote:"It really does not interest me," she wrote. "I didn't tell what I told to have an indictment, trial, fine, prison sentence or a parade with balloons. Let them have a hundred Yinons in Jewish Home and let him be prime minister. We'll live. But we need to know, that's all. I wanted people to know who is representing our religious sector, which I too grew up in."

Translation - I want to slander someone because I thought years ago he harassed me. I put out malice not to have justice but to hurt someone I don't think should be in politics.

I know that some of you might say that it is hard to prove. But we know that sexual harassment cases in which there are multiple complaints - the guy will find himself guilty (because of the "pattern"). Yes - it might be uncomfortable to be questioned under oath. But if this guy is so despicable and has ruined your life, why don't you do what it takes (and it is very little)?

It's one thing to sit at your home and write F/B posts, and another to go to the police.
I encourage females who were assaulted or harassed to go to the police. It is a crime, right? So complain.

Agreed. If more guys did this, there would be much less of the abuse of process that happens.

Dare them to submit to scrutiny. And either you clear your name, or they are proven to be liars.

(Just make sure before doing this that you're innocent, of course!)

Be careful what you wish for. If enough women do this, eventually they'll change the law to, e.g., convict with no evidence, etc.
