You're right. That's something I struggle with. It's a common problem with almost every attractive, relationship-oriented girl. They're almost always going to have an ex that they still have feelings for. When all the talk of their ex starts up, I treat it as a shit test. Usually I let her prattle on for a bit and then I change the subject. Or I might address some of what she's saying by reframing it as weakness on his part. i.e. "he probably acted that way because of his own insecurities. He knew deep down that you could do better than him."

What are some better ways to handle this situation?

I haven't had this come up much in conversation with girls I'm dating, so maybe I'm not the best person to answer this question. It's a good question. Usually if a girl brings up an ex they can tell I'm not at all interested in talking about it. It's not that I'm angry or hurt, I just genuinely have zero interest in talking about her exes unless it's actually relevant to me.

Same way as me only bringing up an ex if there's something to be said related to them that makes sense for the topic of discussion (like for example if I'm saying how I learned to massage and the person who initially taught me was an ex).

Other than that, am I the only one who think this is completely banale? Some chicks are not necessarily huge sluts, they got bored with their boyfriends and bounce. OP happens to be the rebound guy, he might or might not have game. Very simple.

Her boyfriend might be a complete chode or a silent slayer. Human being develop bonds that are hard to shake off after being together for a while. The fact that Western girls lost their ability to bond speak of the degeneracy of society, not that human bonding to another is unnatural.

And then at the end of the day, who is to say that "having game" makes you automatically better than the other guy? Remember Roosh post "Not all women want an alpha male?"

That's a great point, and one a lot of people in the game community would do well to process. There's a slightly self-congratulatory vibe about a lot of Pick-up, evidenced in the OP's post.

Not hating, but the OP is patting himself on the back about his Game, and dismissing this guy in as 'ultra-beta', a term which is used almost exclusively within the game community, and probably means shit to the guy or the girl). It's not like having game is the ace in the pack that means you'll always get the girl. Life is far too nuanced for that.

Fact is learning game is often something akin to digging yourself out of a hole, whether that's from early life experiences, depression, or just shit role models. Not saying that's necessarily the case with OP, but it's why a lot of guys that learn game and get good at pulling, don't get the same quality girls down for LTR's.

Fact is that unless you're really well calibrated, game by itself can only get you so far. It's like a salesman getting his foot in the door. The real self always shines through in time, and as a lot of Game guys have at some point come from a negative place, you can't shake off all those early negative references with some slick openers and a self adopted 'alpha frame'.

Your viewing this 'beta' purely in game terms. Who the fuck knows what he's got/had going on with this girl. All this alpha, beta, chode, stuff is just labels. It makes good references when discussing stuff, but in the real world doesn't carry that much weight.
