Quote:Combat photographer accused of making passes at women faces harsher punishment than Bergdahl

He is an award-winning combat photographer who stands accused of trying to pick up women in the public affairs office at MinotAir Force Base in North Dakota, and for that prosecutors wanted to put him in prison for 130 years.

The prosecutorial zeal was so great that an Air Force officer appointed to investigate the case said the piled-up charges were combined to “artificially exaggerate the criminality of the accused,” who often was simply “socially maladroit and crass.”

This is a glimpse into the new U.S. Armed Forces and its gender wars. It is a slice of military life stemming from the Pentagon’s order in 2013 to erase all sexual harassment and, to enforce it, staff the ranks with an advocacy bureaucracy to empower victims and make sure complaints are filed.

Quote:A Washington Times examination shows that, over a 14-month span, the women’s accusations, in total, amount to three kisses and six touches, plus a series of reported inappropriate comments of a sexual nature. If the married Sgt. Allmon did what the women said, he was tastelessly hitting on them.

Three kisses, six touches, and "inappropriate" comments = 130 years. Fucking hell.

Everyone of us has done way worst shit, thank god it wasn't on a military base while being in the military.

List of things with a punishment lesser than that of "tastelessly hitting on colleagues":

- brutal gang rape inflicting lifelong injuries and disabilities
- premeditated murder
- high treason
- cannibalism

Men really need to think it through if they want to play this game. The Russian military may be a better option.

$200,000 for your freedom.

Is it inappropriate to start "cucking" some of the military officials the way that the Glenn Beck, Lindsay Graham etc. have been hammered by the alt-right?

Of the 5 women identified 4 agreed to testify at Court Martial, one of which is a lesbian. I don't give a shit that they are going after Allman, what bothers me is the length of the sentence.

I mean seriously I was in the Air Force (enlisted) two terms and some of these brass types in this story fucking disgust me. I suppose the military people prosecuting can hide behind "He's just doing his job" but Sherman had it right above. White Male witch hunt.

The problem for soldiers is that the military is your life. You live there, eat there, and sleep there.

A guy can run game outside the base, but the options are few. Soldiers hook up all the time.

I hope it works out for this guy, but the military is too determined to show that they are tough on "sexual harassment" and everything else nowadays.

Running game at an Air Force base could have you in court facing felony, 130 years.
This is a truly terrible story, and as the article makes clear, it is indeed part of a deliberate witch hunt. It has been ordained from on high (the Secretary of Defense, no doubt at the behest and with the approval of the White House) that "sexual harassment" in the military is essentially the main threat to national security (I wish I was joking). So they have to produce show trials in response to the most marginal and ludicrous complaints of harassment, as in this story.

First, to clear up a minor misunderstanding, 130 years was the maximum punishment if you added up all the original charges that the scum prosecutors were asking to proffer. The referring officer condensed and rewrote the charges so that the maximum punishment in the case of conviction on all charges is now "only" 15 years. That's 15 years for a few stolen kisses and crude comments.

The very fact that this case was referred to general court martial, the most severe court martial for felonies, is so outrageous as to be virtually incomprehensible. Such cases, as a rule, are never court-martialed at all, let alone in a general court martial. By contrast, the traitor and deserter Bowe Bergdahl was recommended a special court martial (the lowest level), and for misdemeanors, not felonies. In other words, the US military considers this alleged very minor harassment at a stateside base by a photographer a far more serious crime than the willful desertion of a combat unit at war which caused the deaths of American soldiers sent out on search and rescue missions.

In reality, I believe it is unlikely Allmon will be sentenced to 15 years. But it's quite possible they will sentence him to real jail time, plus loss of all retirement benefits, reduction to the lowest enlisted rank and a dishonorable discharge. Again, all this for a few possibly undesired kisses. And that will be described as a "light sentence" because it will fall short of the demented punishment that the prosecutors are asking for.

This is the behavior of a military that has taken all leave of its senses, and is perpetuating an evil misandrist witch hunt with the explicit encouragement of the Defense Secretary and the Commander in Chief. As the article describes, the current witch hunt atmosphere began in 2013, when then Secretary Hagel made the following statements:

Quote:“Sexual assault is a despicable crime and one of the most serious challenges facing this department,” Mr. Hagel told reporters. “It’s a threat to the safety and the welfare of our people and the health, reputation and trust of this institution. This department may be nearing a stage where the frequency of this crime and the perception that there is tolerance of it could very well undermine our ability to effectively carry out the mission.”

...

We need cultural change where every service member is treated with dignity and respect, where all allegations of inappropriate behavior are treated with seriousness, where victims’ privacy is protected, where bystanders are motivated to intervene, and where offenders know that they will be held accountable by strong and effective systems of justice,” he said.

Anyone who understand how bureaucratic institutions like the military function knows that this kind of directive from on high demands "results"; in this case, the results must be show trials that demonstrate that the military is taking action to eradicate this terrifying scourge of sexual harassment. The insane penalties requested in this case, and its referral to the most severe court martial available, are the work of bureaucratic toadies doing their utmost to fulfill the directive handed from on high. That is how witch hunts are born, and how people's lives get destroyed.

It would be good if, some day, real justice could be meted out against overzealous and bloodthirsty prosecutors, and all those responsible for this sinister and evil witch hunt.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

RE: Running game at an Air Force base could have you in court facing felony, 130 years.
Damn.

I guess on the bright side that this will reverberate within the military and make a lot of young men even more wary of re-upping or even engaging with female personnel outside of the bare necessities.

I wonder how this shit effects long term recruitment. Even before taking the red pill, I knew plenty of military guys who went in right after 9/11 right after HS and after serving a term they all said that they wouldn't do it again and many warned me against signing up.

To a lot of people the military is a family tradition. Will all the bullshit getting passed, I can definitely see a lot of older brothers and fathers warning their family members away from it. Or more patriotic types, who tend to be very educated and skilled, doing research and deciding against it due to articles like this.

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.

@trollking.... last time I was in Seoul Korea, not as a military but just living there 2004 - '05, I regularly went to Itaewon foreigner district, near the largest US Army base (Yongsan). They were enforcing more and more bullshit, such as banning all soldiers and base personnel from the back alley places sometimes known as Hooker Hill and the other redlight bars. Also making ridiculous curfews in which all personnel had to be back on base (9 or 10pm). The fallout was bad -- some places became ghost towns and places were getting no customers. Not to mention making life that much more barren for the soldiers.

@Lizard of Oz, a lot of clear reason in your post. Good breakdown of the situation.
