In regards to it being instinctual for males to present females they are attracted to with gifts, I was just remembering that I recently I finished the book "The Moral Animal", it is a book about evolutionary psychology, in it the author talks about how male chimpanzees present gifts of food to females that they hope to have sex with, the female chimpanzees then weigh whether or not they want to have sex with that male.

Often the presentation of a gift such as food will increase a male chimp's chances for sex, sometimes not, sometimes they explicitly trade gifts, foods, favors, etc. for sex.

Doesn't sound too different from human interactions, assuming that we evolved from apes, a lot of this could have carried over through evolutionary psychology. So much of our instincts, behaviors, desires, etc. are imprinted into our DNA. The only difference is how far we've come from the days of tromping around the forest in a pack of apes.

Overanalyzing a 12 year old's actions with alpha/beta dichotomy. He even says it in the video: he's seen it before and recognized that it's nice to give things to people and make them happy. His reward was feeling good about himself that he'd done a good deed and made someone happy. I don't even think this is sexual at all - just giving a gift to a young girl. I don't think the bracelet is "over doing it" either, especially considering how much he was praised for giving her the first gift... besides what the hell a baseball loving 12 year old boy want with a bracelet?
