Not sure where you used to go out RawGod, but I would get approached by girls in clubs in 2005. Everyone would talk about how easy Japanese girls were. And then some guys would say these weren't the "real" Japanese girls much like discussions of SEA now. But yeah, I know a guy who banged over 100 Roppongi girls in a year back then. I don't think that is possible now barring celebrity status.

I dunno about roppongi club girls - I mostly stay out of the area for fear of diseases and general distaste for the neighborhood - but it is definitely possible to do 100/year from street in areas like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Harajuku, etc.

Need a bit more information on street /day game and other areas besides Roppongi (again.. Ew) but other than that well done and lots of nice info

Excellent thread. I've been coming back to this and the Bang Japan thread regularly while I've been planning our trip to Tokyo.

Does the time of year affect the turnout for Shibuya and Roppongi clubs?

Back in SF if there was a drop of rain or the temperature would drop a couple degrees below the monthly average the bars/clubs would be absolutely dead, almost like the girls in that city were actively looking for excuses not to go out.

I've also heard that New Years is kind of dead in Tokyo as a lot of people go back home for the long holiday. How long does that lull typically last? My friends and I will be in Tokyo from January 15th through the 25th and were hoping that the bars/clubs would bounce back quickly.

Shibuya is always crowded. Always something going on rain or shine. Buy a cheap plastic umbrella at the combini for 3$ and then forget it, or have it get stolen, or steal one yourself, or have it blown out of your hand because of tsunami winds, all of which happened to me at some point.

Can anyone fill me in on what the Feria Pop Up Party at Azabu is? Is Feria shut down this weekend and open at an alternate site?

Me and two friends will be in Tokyo this Friday for about ten days. Looking to hit the ground running based on this guide. Will definitely post an in depth data sheet afterwards.

Just arrived home from a 2 week stay in Japan. Spent 8 nights in Tokyo, mostly in the Shibuya area which I would highly recommend.

You're 2 stops from Shinjuku and about 15 mins from Roppongi via train. Such a crazy area and exactly how I expected Tokyo to look with all the colourful advertisements and hoards of people, I remember arriving home a t5- 6am on two occassions, the shops were still open and there were still heaps of people walking about .

I found Roppongi a bit too touristy for my taste, but I can definitely see that it would be the best place to visit in terms of getting girls into bed. I was in Japan with a girlfriend, but went out solo with a cousin on one occassion in Roppongi and had an American girl signed,sealed,delivered until I got too drunk and started hitting on her Asian step mother. The American was a 6 at best though and I had no logisitics.

If I ever go to Tokyo again solo I would divide my time between Shibuya and Shinjuku I think with a couple nights out at Roppongi.

Can anybody give a comment on the usefulness of a JR Pass in Tokyo? Roppongi can not be accessed by JR train. To me it seems just staying with the Metro/Subway seems just as feasible.

I realized that laundry service is basically non existent or very expensive in Japan and you have to go to the laundromat. "coin laundry"
Here is a service provider which picks up and delivers laundry, I don't know if they are able to handle foreign costumers. One shop of them is also in Shibuya.

What sort of place are you staying in? Airbnb places will typically have a washer for you to use. Dryers are another story, but I have grown accustomed to air drying my laundry overnight.

コインランドリー　 <-- pop that into google maps and it'll help you find other nearby coin laundry places. But being able to drop off some laundry go out explore and grab it before you head home at night sounds pretty spiffy if you ask me.

With the place you linked, you'd probably have a hard time if you tried to call them up with no Japanese speaking ability but could very easily just walk by drop off the clothes and grab em later.

Damn dude Tokyo has the cheapest laundry in the world. Less than a dollar for a shirt dry cleaned, pressed and hung same day service, delivery.

I will stay in a Hostel as a cheap basecamp. Roppongiichome station is a 15 min walk away, roppongi hills 25 min walk. R2SUPPERCLUB? is 15 min walk also. For the weekend I could rent a cheap AirBnB apartment for 2 or 3 nights somewhere even nearer with top logistics, is "R2SUPPERLCUB" the right one? As I don't plan to spend my whole week there for gaming.

Hostels are fine to get your bearings and get some info and meet other travelers. Some even have private rooms. But the prices compared to a good AirBnB just dont make sense. Tokyo might just be the best value for airbnb I have ever come across.

Feria is operating some pop up parties at an alternative location. Its either their current location is going through a make over or its permanently closed. Regardless, the Japanese crowd is largely to follow the Feria brand to the other clubs that they are holding these pop up parties. Give them a Google and you should see the info for these parties on Facebook. I'm not in the country but someone could go check these parties out and give a feedback if its anything similar. It would be a shame to see the Feria name fade away in Tokyo.

Zerdame, it would be great if you are right but calling something a "makeover" is often a face-saving euphemism in Japan. In my ex-company, no senior director was ever taken straight off the Board. They just changed position before later disappearing altogether. Same concept. I fear that Feria is done. Roppongi had already been dying for years now. RIP.

Indeed. I remember the same happening to a few of the clubs in Roppongi previously. Tokyo is itself dying out of its own fascination of foreigners. It's a pretty sad time compared to years ago.

Ok, seems like Roppongi is slowly going downhill. R2 is not a proper nightclub, because they serve food. Seems like not the place to go?
I could relocate to Shinjuku or Shibuya instead of Akaska.

Roppongi is still worth the visit and like I said, would still be a better stomping ground if you have connections. You need decent game but you would be golden if you have connections in Roppongi. The boys who came before you, the veterans of the Roppongi scene, those dudes are either fucking stupid or they're balling. If they're the latter, you wouldn't go wrong hanging with them. Give Roppongi a shot, results vary by individual and you really have to be there yourself to feel if its the place for you.

Shinjuku isn't my idea of a clubbing district. It's alot of things but clubs ain't a Shinjuku thing. Most of the bigger clubs in Tokyo are pretty well labelled on the internet on tourist sites so you can't miss them. Fuck Shibuya if you're a club guy, the clubs there cater mostly towards Japanese university kids and the bouncers are racist bigots. I've been in one(because I could disguised like a Japanese person and was bored to tears with the ridiculous antics of Japanese college students and the sausage fest in there was so bad I left after an hour.

Shinjuku/Shibuya/Omotesando/Aoyama/Azabu-Juban are all good places for bar game and where you wouldn't exactly stand out too much as a foreigner but would still be interesting enough. Not so much Roppongi where there are definitely more foreigners every night than locals.
