I'm flying out to LA next week for work. Should be there about a week or so.

I have a few old friends that relocated out there that can buy anything I want at the local shops.

I never tried any edibles or dabs. What do you recommend? I'm not looking to get whacked out of my mind. Just a cool mellow high.

To get a cool mellow high I don't recommend dabs or brownies. I live in CA and have spent the better half of the night throwing up after each

Edibles can fuck you up something fierce if you don't get the right dose, I'd say start with something mellow, wait an hour, then eat more if you want to feel it heavier. I don't really do edibles, but I hear great things about this chocolate brand called Kiva, think artisanal chocolate with THC, http://www.kivaconfections.com/products.

Also dabs are the basically the most potent form of cannabis, but may not be ideal for a "cool mellow high", so if you don't want to be put on your ass I'd maybe just stick with buds. I'd recommend some good Sour Diesel or some kind of fruity uplifting sativa.

You'll need a "friend" with a medical card if you want to get anything. You might be able to BS your way into one of the clinics in Venice beach. However don't you need proof of residency?

I'd also start small and work big if you're a first timer. Get some of those hard candies like jolly ranchers. Eat one, wait an hour, try more. Don't drive a car if it's your first time.

You should take a detour to Colorado and pick up some there before heading into Cali.

If you're not looking to get whacked out, I would suggest smoking pot rather than dabs or edibles. The weed is really good here. The edibles are great too but can be pretty strong. Usually I'll eat a dose (typically with a .3-.5g), wait an hour, then for the next ~2hours you continuously get higher, then they peak for ~3 hours. I have eaten a single throat losenger before and been retarded high for like 6 hours. Eating a low dose will be fine, usually don't have to increase it. I would say dabs are pretty heavy as well (depending how often you smoke). If you're looking for a more chill high, I would recommend getting a Sativa (blue dream, jack herrer, lambs bread, green crack etc...) these are more of a day time high and you wont be as couch locked as an Indica. Go bike up venice beach/santa monica or something.

I have heard from some people you can get a card without a california license (depends on the doctor). like the beast1 said, probably the places in venice. have fun
