Time Machine into the past
Author Message
Go to 1914-1918 to see how my Great Grandfather coped with being at Ypres. How did they cope with horrors we can barely comprehend?

Also I visited Berlin a few months ago. I found a road that had something like 30 railway bridges spanning it. Incredible. I would have loved to have witnessed the 3rd Reich's military machine at its peak.

Damn, DeepDiver's got the plan. If we can only send one guy back, my vote is for him.

I'd go back to Caesar's trip to Alexander to hunt down Pompey. He gets off the boat and the Egyptians presents him with with a basket with Pompey's head inside. Then the exiled 18 year old cleopatra sneaks into Caesars quarters (wrapped in a rug) and the 50 year old Caesar bangs her and knocks her up.

I'd go back and stop the 19th amendment.

There are a few rules:
1)You cannot change history
2)You cannot have sex or game women
3)You aren't allowed to try to make yourself wealthier.
4)You need to observe historically known people, things and people.
5)It has to be in a time before you were born.

Basically, you are only allowed to learn and study.

Here is where I would like to go

1) Ancient Greece-I would want to take a Video recorder and watch Socrates do what he does best, lay down the socratic method on his fellow Athenians.

I would interview Socrates' disciples.

I would want to record Leonidas meeting the oracle of Delphi.

2)I would record the Egyptian Pyramids being built

3)I would take photographs of Persepolis in its prime.

4) Take photographs of Xanadu before its destruction.

5) I would interview and record the founding fathers creating the US constitution.

If you want to go back in time, sometimes you don't need a time machine. If you are in Medellin take a metro cable to city slums, voila you have travelled 10-15 years back Big Grin

Same way one can see amazon tribes to feel how it was to be a human 5-6 thousands years ago.

Sorry to ruin your mind experiment.

I would really like to see pyramids when they had gold covered tops.

I'd love to see Teddy Roosevelt's presidency, my parents when they were in their 20's, the death of Jesus, Martin Luther putting his Theses on the door and the roaring 20's.

I'd have to go to 1969 if it's before I'm born. Probably watch them at the Fillmore West or maybe in 1968 when they first arrived. Would love to see Hendrix and Cream as well.

Interesting audio of George Harrison first hearing about this new band called Led Zeppelin with a bunch of young guys in it.

1. Göbekli Tepe - I want to see how large this was, who built it and how they built it. Scientists still have no idea. Then I'd report back to Joe Rogan, Randall Carlson, and Graham Hancock.

2. Jesus - I'd take some Adderall with me and stay awake for 3 days to verify the death and resurrection. Was there actually an angel that rolled the stone away, or was that just imagination run wild. I figure in 72 hours my faith would be gone.

3. Family - I'd love to see my grandparents in their younger years. They're old enough to be from a very different time, but young enough for me to have known them intimately.
