More hilarity from our higher learning institutions. So...the university did a survey. The survey came back that 1/4 of the female students had been sexually assaulted and also that only 1 in 4 of those assaulted ever reported it.

At a rate of 1 in 4...every time I ever walked down state street I should have seen women being raped on park benches and in alleys. Ridiculous.

Can you imagine the outrage if you used disgusting methodologies like this to create comically exaggerated reports on interracial crime? Hell, even if you just added "black" and "white" into this one: "1 in 4 white women raped by black men"

Would this be okay? This is always the first question I ask the morons who repost this stuff to me, followed by "If not, why not? And why is it somehow okay in its current form?"

So, I actually found and reviewed the actual survey to see what constitutes "rape". It's as we all suspected, rape isn't rape, harassment isn't harassment, and abuse isn't abuse.

Harassment

Here's were we get to the meat of the survey. Of course rape is defined as not getting "affirmative consent"

As I said in the similar thread today:

Rape

As we've seen before, "incapacitated due to alcohol" can mean 1 drink over dinner.

They call it "active" consent but it's the same as affirmative consent.

There we have it. Being "raped" or "sexually assaulted" in this survey means as little as a guy kissing you without first discussing your feelings about it. Or kissing a girl and moving a hand to her boob (over clothing even) without stopping kissing and discussing whether or not to proceed.

And, even after waiting for her affirmative consent, not picking up on her cues to slow down is also rape. The endgame is - all sex is rape, all men are rapists.

Funny how this 1 in 4 number keeps popping up at every university. The University of Pennsylvania came up with the same 1:4 ratio. If 25% of women are getting raped or sexually assaulted on campus, either college campuses are anarchic inhospitable criminal war zones with utterly incompetent and ineffective campus police forces where out of control gangstas, thugs and other assorted felonious lowlifes are raping women like berserk Red Army soldiers in Germany at the close of WWII or the numbers are complete and utter bullshit.

We really need to press them using their own numbers. If your average girl has a 1 in 4 chance of being raped at one of the most progressive universities in America, what sane parent would send their child to a coeducational school?

One of these days, the survey may actually come close to the truth.

"One in Four Woman lie about rape".

I was talking to a SHARP representative the other day (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention for those unfamiliar with the army acronym). He told me that in one of his first meetings as a SHARP rep, he was told flat out 80% of rape accusations are false.

So, apparently 4 out 5 women lie about being raped.

^The problem with these types of surveys is that you can never actually know what is true and what is false. It's like the number of partner surveys, how can you tell who is lying? How can you actually prove which accusations are real outside of being in the bedroom with them when it happened?

Sure, you could administer each survey while the respondent is hooked up to a lie detector, but women are so fucking stupid that they've actually convinced themselves they were brutally raped.

Most people don't realize how a small wording change can drastically alter the results of surveys. With all these surveys, they are worded in a way to produce the results the researchers want. You could just as easily create one that reflects the results you are looking for.

They survey was designed to get the result they wanted. That's why it isn't based on what actually happened, it's based on how you felt about it.

Rape (harassment, abuse, etc) are no longer acts someone commits, they are feelings. Say a girl wants a guy as her boyfriend. She willingly responds to his attempt to kiss her. Later on, she decides that her desire to have a boyfriend pressured her into the kiss. According to this survey, that is sexual assault.

She's not lying really, she did, in fact, want a boyfriend. And that makes it HIS fault, somehow.

Even if it was something like a 1 in 4 chance of getting punched in the face, I would opt to go to another school.

I actually brought this up to a girl and she responded "which schools have lower rates of assault?" I brought up all-women's colleges-- which she took to be a ridiculous idea. No male attention there I guess.

If 25% of girls are being raped, why on earth would a female student voluntarily get drunk at a college party? This statistic is actually making women seem like complete idiots. What a shock.
