I suggest everyone read Imperial Hubris, written by a 22-year CIA veteran.

Basically Bin Laden wanted to provoke a war between Islam and the west, and was successful at doing this.

The fact that the west has toppled stable non-islamist governments throughout the region such as Iraq and Libya, and created the chaos that engulfed Syria, as well as left Afghanistan in a bloody mess, has done nothing but help spur on this conflict which the west is losing.

Europe is now being invaded by Muslims fleeing the violence and chaos we created, streaming through the once-stable countries we plunged into anarchy.

Any idea that we need to go to Muslim country X, bomb, and replace their government with a different one is insane. We've seen what has happened in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Libya when their stable government is destroyed.

Yes I do.

Firstly, because I haven't seen any major or unexplainable discrepancies in the report/films/photos.

Secondly, because a conspiracy of such vast proportions would be impossible to keep secret. Furthermore, anyone leaking it would surely be killed immediately (which in turn means that a huge number of people would need to mysteriously die at the same time).

Thirdly - and this is the most important factor for me - no government needs an elaborate conspiracy in order to engage in stupid and unpopular behaviour. They can simply trample ahead and do it, no justification needed. Just look at Iraq war, where there was absolutely no reason to go to war and everyone knew it, yet it was done anyway.
