Seeking advice regarding next phase: geography, relationships, career
I've been traveling the globe since February of this year.
In brief, I started in Asia, ended up in Europe, and will be heading back to the U.S. in late October for a major surgery.
I'm 32 years old and work remotely doing paralegal type work over the internet for a U.S. company which has allowed me to travel. I make good money and the Geoarbitrage has been great although I have not been saving as much as I would have liked.
The surgery that I will be undergoing will require about a 3 month post-recovery. During this time I will be doing some soul searching as to the next steps in the major areas of my life which include relationships, geography, and career/business.
They can be divided into these several questions:
1. Should I start looking for a wife/serious LTR? Kids?
2. Where do I want to live? Do I want to stay in the U.S.? Move somewhere else in the English speaking world? Move to Latin America?
3. Should I go get a master's degree? MBA? PhD? Start a business? Get a more stable, possibly more prestigious job?
I try not to go overboard less I get into the analysis-paralysis without ever taking any concrete actions.
In terms of the first question, I would rather not look for a serious LTR/wife before I was able to answer the later 2 questions.
Regarding the 2nd question, like I said I have been traveling since February and been to over 10 countries in that time and have become a bit jaded and disenchanted with the rest of the world. Traveling has actually made me realize how much more I like the U.S. This isn't to say that I don't think that some of these other countries are great in their own way, but I severely underestimated just how lucky I was to be born in such a nation where, despite current trends in politics/culture.
Regarding number 3, I don't like what I'm doing now as it is un-challenging and I work completely alone. Now, people would say that I'm nuts for thinking like this, I make a good amount of money ($70,000+) and am able to live anywhere in the world. However, after doing it for a while, I would like something where I work with other people in a competitive environment. I have basically hit the ceiling in terms of money and there is absolutely no prestige in what I am currently doing. At one point I would have deluded myself into thinking that I've transcended petty notions of prestige and vanity but the fact is is that I do want to be highly regarded and there is just no outlet for that in my current job. Part of this probably comes from the fact that my father was/is very successful and although he has always said he doesn't care what I do, part of my longs to be greater than him.
I'm not looking for any specific answers as I know that I will ultimately need to make my own decision and make it work but any input would be useful.

You're asking a bunch of random anonymous people on the internet to answer personal questions about your life, but the only one who will know the answers are you. I can't tell you if you should get a wife or kids, or whether you should live in the U.S., because I don't know you, your values, your desires, your goals, only you do, so while we can maybe give you feedback or advice, you need to figure this shit out for yourself.

This was my final sentence. Did you actually read the entire post?
I've bounced it off of family and friends as well as other people that I've met whilst traveling. However, I have been spending time (probably too much time) on this forum and have come to appreciate the insights and advice from the guys on RVF ranging from politics to other random personal questions in the same vein as the questions posed above.
Following your logic, it would be absurd to ask anything on this forum. Asking for random input on various life issues that the vast majority, if not all men have faced is not unprecedented. In fact, it's very common.
