Yeah, all the professional lube is is glycerin anyway. That's what causes the heat, etc.

Buy straight up veggie glycerine in bulk (NOW Foods has it) and it's 5% of the cost. You get some weird looks when you whip out a big bottle labeled "VEGETABLE GLYCERINE" though so transfer it to an old KY or Astro bottle

Back when I helped out at a farm vet's, they would use "J-lube", it's a powdered polymer that you mix with water, it was used to lube cavity instruments, so I'm sure it would be safe to use as a sex lube. Super stringy slippery stuff.
10oz of it made roughly 6 gallons, I think it was fairly cheap, like 7 bucks for a 10oz bottle.
To wash it off, just sprinkle salt on it, then rinse.
