LOL, at the US support of "anti-Assad moderates" in Syria. Look at a picture of the Al-Assad family. They look like they could be Methodists from Indiana.

Russia buildup - Reuters

How dare these politicians of ours put at risk the very existence of 6 billion people just so their ego isn't crushed by the stay of execution for Assad.

I see more action from the bleeding heart idiots welcoming refugee's than the majority of people who would sleepwalk into this potential shitfest.

Exactly how would the US and NATO use hard military action against Assad with Russian political and now military support Mr Cameron? You fucking idiot!

What intelligence do these men receive? I remember reading some poster on here clarifying how it is pure malice, not ignorance on their behalf that in 2015 we still have geo-political war mongers after blood over a bit of land at the expense of millions of lives.

Last time the US threatened to bomb Assad's forces the Russian military stated "that would not be in your best interests".

RE: Russia Entering the Syrian Conflict
A gradual escalation of Russian and Iranian military support will be pointless. It will be countered by increased support from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the other pro US Gulf States supporting the jihadists as America's gradually escalating involvement in Vietnam was successfully countered. Russia and Iran need to go in full force on day 1 and exterminate the Al Nusra(AQ) and ISIS terrorists in a blitzkrieg like war. If they eliminate those terrorists already in Syria before they can be resupplied and reinforced from outside it will make closing the borders possible thus slowing any new infiltration to a trickle.

Once again Vlad and Ruskies using their balls, sacking up and getting shit done.

Once again, Obama is impotent and useless. Also is helping fund these terrorists.

I don't understand how my fellow Americans think Assad is worse than these ISIS fucks.

Same with Saddam keeping fuckers in check (granted the Kurds in the north).

I agree with the posts:

-Many Arab countries don't understand and can't figure out what democracy is about.
-They NEED a crazy ass dictator to keep them all in line. (Saddam, Assad, Qaddafi, etc.)
-The US and her Allies caused all this destabilization with the "Arab Spring"
-This is a resources grab for oil and gas.

Good point.

I wonder what is Russia's actual strategy in this conflict? After intervening with boots on the ground, if they don't strike with full force they'll just end up getting worn down and defeated - just like Afghanistan in Soviet times.

I'm by no means an expert on this, but the strategy they're using in Ukraine would probably most likely fail in Syria. There are way too many separate players involved with different goals and allegiances.

Will you ever learn? We've been putting up with this shit for decades now prior to yet more democratic love bombs being dropped to create another refugee crisis.

I know EURO has, that's not what I was getting at in the above comment - I'm stating how most retarded Americans view ISIS/Assad.

Was I ever painting a horrible picture ? No, America has more blood on it's hands than Assad ever will.

I don't need to learn anything.

Now the USA is determined to get rid of president Al Assad. Russia entering the Syrian civil war could solve the conflict. The USA wouldn't risk WW3 for Syria.

Let the Russians deal with it. I as a American feel if we have to go in balls out we own the land afterwards.

Not aide and false promises. No. You fucked up? Need us? We take it all with a victory or at least half that will be US property.

Maybe Trump understands this is business and I hope so but we can do much better things with our money than jack off a bunch of retards.

Trump has said he wants to just go into ISIS held territory, conquer the oil wells and nothing else and let them just starve for lack of funds.

What a clusterfuck USA vs. ISIS vs. Al Nursa vs. Assad vs. whoever the fuck else only God knows...

We need to stop toppling these stable secular Arab leaders and leave well enough alone.

Too late for that.

The American people still don't understand how the secular democratic government of Iran was toppled by their government back in 1953, leading to the Islamic Revolution in that country.

Islamic extremism exists as the powerful force it is today because of the actions of foreign powers - Israel, the USA, and Russia - attempting to control the region. The only people left standing that will not and cannot be controlled are the nastiest and most violent elements.

It will end when a broke west gives up, or when a warlike western leader arises and goes medieval on them, like Putin did in Chechnya. Only to clean up the whole region would probably require nukes.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

US strategy for the middle east.

1. Bend over backwards for Israel
2. ???
3. Profit

The Iran deal was an anomaly, it was probably done to fuck with Bibi after he started interfering in US domestic politics, since trying to cut funding or to strongly pressure Israel is political suicide in the USA. Anything like that will most likely not happen again.

Not a fan of Assad, but glad to see the Russians go in. They will be killing crazy jihadis. "Moderate" Syrians are already on Assad's side (e.g., Druze, Christians). Obama administration's attempt to gin up anti-Assad Syrian "moderates" is searching for unicorns. Maybe can find an anti-Assad Syrian moderate in Fairfax county Virginia but he is running a dental practice and not gonna go fight.

Russia is warning the US with some good old "poke the bear if you dare" talk we all know and love. I would say 'like a good Bond villain' but I'm not too sure Russia is the bad guy here. Laugh

An interesting development;
Quote:In the latest reports, two Western officials and a Russian source told Reuters Moscow is sending advanced SA-22 anti-aircraft missiles to Syria. The system would be operated by Russian troops, rather than Syrians, the Western officials said.

Its not like ISIS is flying drones and aircraft. Russia is going to be there for the long haul and will protect itself against un-intended consequences.

The coming months shall be very interesting.

From your posts, it is clear that you've been following the Syrian proxy war since it became highly likely when NATO's 'no fly zone' over Libya turned out to be a bombing campaign to support Jihadi and Qatari special forces.

Russia was humiliated when it trusted the UN Security Council's assertion that a 'no fly zone' was just to protect civilians. It is not going to make the same mistake over Syria, regardless of how many chemical weapons claims Obama tries to squeal.

RE: Russia Entering the Syrian Conflict
Don't believe for one minute Russia feels betrayed. They expected as much and like the experienced adversary they are they merely implemented a plan.

We in the West forget Russia does not put on display its military movements outside of displays and at most would not involve the families of its servicemen. It is nonetheless disconcerting for many a military intelligence person to see Russia doing its own thing without inviting a crowd of media people like they do in the USA.

The White House likes to state its intentions whereas the Kremlin just does it and tells the rest of the world to deal with it.

Someone already said the only option to end this: bomb Syria to the ground.

Then Iran would be justified in bombing Israel to the ground. Where exactly does it end?
