I am going to Russia for 2 weeks. St Pete for one week and Moscow for one week. I have 2 objectives - see some historical things, and go clubbing every night.

I was planning on spending a week in each city. Any suggestions? Should I spend more time in st pete or moscow?

I would hit St. Pete for a few days to see historical sites and spend the rest of your time in Moscow if you are interested in nightlife. Moscow is better for clubbing, but it is slow Sunday-Wednesday.

Thanks. I know absolutely no Russian for what it is worth but I have pipelined some English speakers. Getting the 3 year visa was easy.

As Dantes mentioned Moscow is slow Sunday - Wednesday but there are still some great places to hit. For example, on Monday's hit up Tiki Bar for some latin dancing, on Tuesday's hit up Club Garage for one heck of a hip-hop party (the crowd tends to be youngish but that did not prevent me from grabbin' many numbers as a near 40 year old), Wednesday's hit up Coyote Ugly Saloon once you get tired of evening gaming by red square.

For Sunday I would recommend day-gaming at Gorky Park, though I myself am not a good day-gamer so tend to give up easily and then gravitate towards the dance squares which have great ratios.

My advice would be to fly in and out of Moscow, and maybe hit Peterburg for a few days on off nights to see the tourist sights, which are amazing. I'd spend your Fridays and Saturdays in Moscow. More time in Moscow will also allow you more time for second and third dates if need be.
