As for this action, the fraternity deserves this suspension for their idiocy. These are fairly self-evident truths, as are many other game related truths. You don't go out and spread the Gospel of Game.

Dumb signs. At the same time, this situation serves as a great example of one of the greatest contradictions in feminism, namely whether modern women are supposed to be empowered Amazons that live life on their own terms or perpetual victims of the patriarchy that require protection from the big bad world out there. These frats aren't going out onto College Ave and scooping up helpless freshmen girls and dragging them back to their rape caves. Rather these girls are CHOOSING to participate in these sort of activities. It takes two to tango. Yet whenever one of these "frats promote rape culture" story comes up the girls are depicted as mere passive agents and victims. So which is it? Are women capable of making their own decisions and choosing what they will subject their bodies to or have we not moved on from the days of women constantly needed to be chaperoned and babysat by the men?

This kind of stuff isn't new but it's stupid because it brings unwanted attention to the local chapter of the fraternity. Someone mentioned that universities don't like this kind of publicity, but neither do the national fraternity organizations. They want as little liability as possible.

This reminds me of a funny fraternity t-shirt I saw in college. One fraternity made up t-shirts with a caricature of a construction worker on the front wearing a tool belt full of tools. It read, "XXX fraternity: We screw, we nut, we bolt." Thought it was priceless at the time...

Nothing but truth in advertising. That fraternity should be praised for reminding every parent what college means to their daughter, especially nowadays.

This. Had they had signs saying 'your daughter will find a husband here, to whom she shall lose her virginity to and be faithful forever' sign: (a) that would have been far more hillarious, and (b) they wouldn't have been punished for bringing hamsters' attention to the fact that their daughters are going to be playing dick wack-a-mole with their clunge for 3+ years, and paying the university a substantial retainer for the opportunity to do so.

All these guys are saying is that they will willingly have sex with freshmen girls and their mothers.

Simply them saying this makes people feel "unsafe."

This isn't a debate about whether people should have sex, but rather whether or not men should be allowed to publicize their sexual desires.

The answer, of course. Men's sexually must be carefully hidden away until a women specifically desires it.

Women can hoist their boobs up to eye level for all to see and no one is allowed to condemn this, but men had better not wear pants that give any indication that he has a penis.

Really good points. Also, on college campuses, women can express their sexuality by participating in masturbation panels, listening to lectures by sex columnists like Tristan Taormino, and taking extra-curricular sex toy lessons.

As for those posters, they were clearly a joke. I'm sure the students who put them up knew they'd be punished in some form. But having people go on about feeling "unsafe" is ridiculous.

If an immature joke like that really makes female students feel unsafe, I hope they don't ever go to the movies, into any city, or listen to any rap CDs. They'd all faint and have to be carried away in stretchers.

Also, how are we preparing our women to go out into the world and do jobs if they feel unsafe at every turn? Do they magically morph into "strong women" as soon as they get handed their diploma?

It's classless and tasteless, but the only way it can be read as a threat is if seen by someone who mentally adds "because rape!" to everything they see.

Seeing a simple prank as a personal insult is the act of a damaged person. Either they are more powerful than ever, or more prevalent. Probably it's both - broken people creating more broken people.
