His critics, many of whom are leftists, will say that he is a racist, a murder, and he burnt down several churches in Norway during his black metal youth. As for the accusations of racism and why he burnt down churches in his youth, it all makes more sense if you listen to him explain his own philosophy and worldview rather than just listening to his leftist haters.

Yea, stupid haters hating on a guy who killed people, burned down churches, and has racist tendencies. Bunch of snowflakes taking his past at face value rather than looking into the "deeper meaning" of him killing someone and burning churches.

Definitely sounds like a guy to look up to, certainly not a nutjob who gives ammo to people who say the men's rights "manosphere" is filled with racist, sexist, misogynistic and homophobic people.

Someone jokingly mentioned Charles Manson, in fact there are a lot of similarities with Varg V: both men are high-profile products of a neo-pagan satanic musical scene. In fact, the norse death metal closely mirrors many elements of the Laurel Canyon hippie scene, which morphed into a much darker scene once the flower faded, the drugs became harder and the cults darker.

Both subcultures are based on a what some modern American red pill intellectuals like Jay Dyer, Joe Atwill an Dave McGowan have identified as weaponized anthropology, the revival of technophobic archaic cultures (hippies and norse paganism) as tools for control of the ruling technocratic class. This body of work is well-documented and quite persuasive.

Dave McGowan's "Weird Scenes Inside Laurel Canyon" establishes the links between the deep state and the social engineering that spawned the hippie music scene that ended up neutering Boomers and sweeping the world. I think that Varg's brand of nationalism is a mixed bag. What he doesn't understand is that we are in the final stages of the destruction of Christianity and traditionalism in the West, and that the oligarchs are also pagan (luciferian, kabbalist, etc) who have plotted the destruction of Christianity for centuries.

His culture was the last European nation to adopt Christianity, which has been part and parcel of Scandinavian culture for over a millenium, holding on to the best elements of that culture while doing away with the psychotic darker elements of paganism. Stuff like human sacrifices, which were a part of pre-Christian nordic cults.

So the real act of rebellion would be to return to a pre-1960s uncucked true form of Christianity, as opposed to the religion of the Oligarchs.

This long tirade aside, kudos to VV for getting back on the right path through family life and providing a healthy environment for his wife and children. He seems to have learned from his experiences, served his time and moved on without having to compromise, living a great life in the beautiful French countryside (see vid below). His French wife Marie looks like a keeper (see vid below at the 10 min mark). He has been getting harassed by the French authorities like other dissidents from that country, here's hoping for regime change through the ballots next month.

Not that it matters much, but the last ones were arguably the Baltic nations, via the Livonian and Prussian Crusades.

Latvians and Lithuanians still have Pagan names. I have met Lithuanian girls with names like Giedre (sunshine) or Egle (fir).

Latvians are probably the last (not sure about Estonians and Finns, but they are not Indo European) Europeans to become Christianized, mass baptisms to Christianity started only after year 1200 and most of the first ones were formal ones with people still practicing paganism.

Latvians and Lithuanians are the most pagan European nations - summer solstice is still a national holiday and many more traditions are alive then in western Europe.

About names - Latvian women can have beautiful names like Liesma (flame) [imagine redhead with a literal name like that, sometimes happens] or Lāsma (water shining) or Madara (a type of flower), older women can still be found with names like Mirdza (bright shining) or Gaida (waiting/patient one), there are other names with interesting meanings and no Christian patron.

All those badmouthing about Varg on this thread fall into certain categories:

- People brainwashed by the media lies about him
(e.g. No, he does not do "black metal" anymore, it's ambient music. He has distanced himself from black metal).
Also about the homicide he committed at a young age, there is a difference between "murder" and "manslaughter", at least in the Germanic law tradition. The latter is much more honorable. If someone is trying to kill me, I kill him first.

- Christians
Yeah, he says negative things about christianity from a pagan perspective, so it's natural to oppose him at first when you self-identify as a Christian. But maybe he's right?

- Jews
Yeah, he says negative things about Jews... But who doesn't?

- Non-Europeans
Yeah, he promotes European racial self-confidence and paganism revival, so if you're not European, maybe you are scared to see Europeans strong and want them weak instead.

For everyone else, especially Europeans wary of christianity, it's worth to take a closer look at Varg and his youtube channel "thulean perspective".

He doesn't recognize that there's bigger fish to fry than theoretical theological questions. This is because he doesn't believe in the future of society and civilization. He actually wants civilization to crumble and die. Sure, there are plenty ecological reasons and I can see where he's coming from. But this shows his bleak and ultimately nihilistic mind set. He wants the world to adhere to his own personal misery.

Varg's modus operandi can be perfectly explained by the very name he choose for himself. There are two germanic names for wolves: 1) wulf and 2) varg. The first one is used when giving names, like Athalwolf for example. This term is used like a totem, when invoking the (positive) power of the wolf as a pack animal. The second term is used for the wolf as a killer and destroyer. People who broke the law and aren't allowed to live in a society become "warg", because they have to live like wolves in the forest. How fitting with his antisocial nature. And how fitting is this emergence of a germanic archetype, you can almost call it mythological.

Varg is more a hindrance than help to "the cause", which is preserving the identity and spirituality of native Europeans. Instead of being a wise old man with a healthy family that is at peace with himself and the world, he chose the path to project his pain and suffering onto other humans. He has no control over himself and is a complete liability. He is no role model for anyone. Ignore him, don't feed into the drama he creates, and if he occasionally makes a good point (like focussing on sustainable living), take it in, but ultimately move on to greener pastures.

My favourite aspects of Varg are the music (both the BM and ambient stuff) and his pastoral family-oriented lifestyle. I'm not really into the pagan stuff.

Ironically, his original name was Christian (he changed it to Varg in 1992-3). When he retrospectively refers to his original name, he spells it "Kristian", but his name was spelled Christian during that period - flyers for his original demo tape say "C. Vikernes" in the address and he is credited as Christian on the back of an Old Funeral (his pre-Burzum band) 7" he played on.

I think the following comment some guy left on my YouTube channel says more about Varg and neopaganism than I ever could.

Note that for all the neopagans' talk of reviving Europe's native traditions, they sound indistinguishable from leftists crying about "freedom" and how big meanie Christians are keeping them down. I'm not that familiar with EE in general, not having traveled there much, but I get the feeling that there is a decent amount of paganism there too, due to the spiritual vacuum left by the satanist ((bolcheviks)) having systematically carried out the extermination program endorsed by that sick YT poster above, tens of thousands of churches destroyed, tens of millions of Christians exterminated, starting with the clergy, just as was done in the French Revolution. The Baltic states for instance were completely gutted, Jura Lina documented this very well.





Most neopagans don't really understand the luciferian dimension of their faith, if they did, they'd have a clue about who has been pushing that program. Some do, like Henrik Palmgren, but they seem to be in the minority.
